Anybody who fails to enforce the law as defined by the rebels is by definition guilty of treason, genocide, paedophilia, walking on the cracks in the pavement and the murder of Rasputin (Russia's greatest love machine). And mopery. Don't forget mopery. (For any UK readers not familiar with this das...

she was convicted by a jury's unanimous verdict of arson, being reckless as to whether life was endangered In other words, but for the grace of God she would be guilty of felony murder (at least in most U.S. states; I don't know if the U.K. still follows the common-law felony murder rule, under whi...

Thanks.
When I lived in New York they had pretty much the same system-- you couldn't renew your vehicle registration without an inspection certificate from a licensed mechanic. California is much looser on the subject, though they do require an emissions test every few years.

No insurance is going to be a few hundred and 6 points. No MOT is usually £100. No licence should also be good for a few hundred.

Can someone explain for this American what "MOT" is?

Sounds like you have a time portal for an operationg system, bit like buying an old radio, turning it on and getting Amos 'n Andy.

That was a plot point in Harlan Ellison's novelette "Jeffty Is Five."

Common law: In the real world, this term has a number of different and conflicting meanings. In U.S. legal writing, I see the phrase "common law" used in three different senses: (1) It can refer to the general legal system of English-speaking counties, as an antonym to "civil law.&qu...

However I said that it is my understanding, at least in Canada, that all criminal offenses are now under statutory law rather than common law. I think we were talking past each other. In the United States as well, all criminal offenses are now statutory. (At the federal level, this happened very ea...

This is an interesting case (in the sense that watching a gory car wreck is "interesting"), but I don't see anything particularly sovereign-ish about it. The California Bar's disciplinary reports are full of lawyers who fought bar disciplinary proceedings by suing the Bar and the courts, o...

Give him credit he's right about another thing too. Cannabis isn't illegal under common law. As I understand common law nothing is illegal under it because "illegal" inplies criminal actions which are the creation of legislated statutory law. Common law is civil. Not so. I recall learning...

Re: Anthony Williams - Private Attorney General

Anthony Troy Williams, Private Attorney General, has been sentenced to fifteen years , to be served in Florida's notoriously genteel state prisons. The handwriting on that judgment is hard to make out, but I read it as 15 years incarceration for theft, followed by five years for filing false docume...
