Re: Tax Code Is Gibberish So I Don't Owe

The income tax law was intended (as shown by the Congressional debates - first, on the proposal of the 16th Amendment, then on the first Internal Revenue Code in 1913, and the subsequent Code in 1954 and several other times) to reach and tax just about every penny that found its way into a person's ...

Re: What's with the victim thing?

My opinion on this was developed when I was parliamentarian for a convention of the American Jewish Committee back during the time of the Skokie march. These Nazi boys - you'll find very few mature men in their ranks - are really hungry for ATTENTION. They're like small children who have learned dir...

Re: Tax Code Is Gibberish So I Don't Owe

Income tax applies to salaries, wages, and also revenue received from royalties, dividends, rents, interest, gambling, and other inert forms of receiving money - not necessarily an 'activity'. What is taxable is 'income' not activity.

Re: Tax Code Is Gibberish So I Don't Owe

The courts have been receptive to defenses based on misunderstanding or confusion about the terms of the tax code in instances of (1) relatively new or little used tax provisions whose details have not yet been made completely clear, and/or (2) uncommon or convoluted transactions whose handling unde...

Re: Tax Code Is Gibberish So I Don't Owe

This is a significant decision inasmuch as it addresses the difficulty of reading the tax code as an excuse for complete non-compliance. In other cases the courts have held that, even though taxpayers may not be skilled or trained in either tax law or accounting, they are expected to comply with ins...

Re: Harvey Dent and the Intellectual Freedom Movement

I feel obliged to offer some lawyerly insight to the video linked in the message immediately above, wherein Dent (or somebody) tries to fast-talk a car salesman into accepting a promissory note for $51G in exchange for a car - without obtaining any more data about the purchaser. A promissory note pa...

Re: Tax Laws Not Specific Enough For TP

Previous court cases have held that someone confused by the Tax Code should follow authoritative guidance such as letters from the IRS, instruction books from the IRS, and the regulations worked up by the IRS (namely title 26 of the CFR - Code of Federal Regulations; for title 26 the section numbers...

The court accepted notice that the debt has been paid in full. But then, the Teller clerk never acknowledged setoff in writing either... Suppose you refuse to accept some bonded promissory notes in the value of $10 for a bag of vegetables at the Farmer's Market. Per custom I have already filled the...

Re: Pseudolegal Gibberish of the Day - Mortgages as Copyrights

Ken Dost managed to confuse himself by latching onto the 2009 mortgage for Salem Media Group - a radio broadcaster and book/magazine/internet publisher - so Salem, naturally, would generate copyrights (and maybe trademarks and patents) in the course of its particular business, and made a point of in...

Re: Sovrun Paraleguls

Yes, the title insurance company is supposed to conduct its own verification of the chain of title, otherwise it stands to lose money by relying on some stranger's title research of unknown quality. As a generality, there are relatively few instances of a title insurance company having to pay out. T...

In the US, it is possible to get a passport for a child absent a birth certificate - but it requires (1) proof of an emergency requiring that the child travel, (2) an affidavit from a parent, under oath, of the child's citizenship/birth details, and, this is significant, (3) the passport is issued f...

The real name of 'Achashverosh Adnah Ammiyhuwd' is Oscar Lee Washington. He was defendant in a criminal case in the Muni. Court of Butler County, Ohio last year - but I do not know the crimes or the outcome. He tried to intimidate the prosecution by filing a civil lawsuit in the federal court, claim...

Re: Optima Tax Relief

Frankly, there are lawyers out there who cannot seem to attract clients notwithstanding they have talent and know-how. For them, a guy like Sokolove, who farms clients out to them for a kick-back, might be a very wholesome way to build up their careers. Some of the TV ads you see - "Have you be...

Re: Optima Tax Relief

An Offer-in-Compromise could be a generous savings, but these commercials stretch credulity. I am inclined to believe that they follow the lead of the Ronnie Deutsch, who made it sound like she would pull a gun on the IRS agent to get a good settlement. I suspect Optima exaggerates the magnitude of ...

There's a reason why law schools title the classes on courtroom behavior as "Trial Diplomacy". These Sovtards almost invariably manage to turn an encounter that could result in a mere traffic ticket within 3 minutes into a twenty minute argument that ends with handcuffs, and courtroom proc...

Re: Sovrun Paraleguls

You could buy an up-to-date text of the full UCC from the bookstore associated with a law school for about $60 (issued every year or every two years to accommodate amendments). Some (many) Sovtards think that the UCC regulates criminal/tax/traffic/federal court cases (it does not). Some Sovtards in ...

Re: Sovrun Paraleguls

Further down US law makes it's inevitable appearance in the form of references to UCC this and UCC that. (Although in fact I don't believe UCC is actually law even in the US, isn't it more like a directive that each state should enact in their own laws?) The UCC (Uniform Commercial Code) was promul...

I am inclined to bet the mortgage that Stratford Lapeer - and all the other names used - is not incorporated under any state, despite calling itself an LLC, that it has no legal existence and the anonymous/pseudononymous individuals behind it will vanish at the first serious problem. It's been a bit more than a year since I had to have our beloved Turkish Van, Shoonra, euthanized. He was a true rescue cat, found - a tiny little thing, shivering in a freezing rain on a island in the Interstate by one of my wife's co-workers who put him in a cardbox box and took him to work to see...
