Re: Captain America v. Starlord

If it's for the kids, I hope they both go to both hospitals, together, in costume.

The only thing to be decided should be which one first.

Re: Really.....

Yes, we always lose something... Except birds. We never lose birds. Birds LOVE shiny new things. Birds love to PERCH on shiny new things, and sit there for a while. Like brand new cobalt-blue 2015 Toyota Camrys. As evidenced by the TWO big bird s#!ts I just found on the side of the car, one under th...

Re: Really.....

I just bought a 2015 Camry. You're right. Only one outside keyhole, on the drivers' door. (At least it has that.) But it still has a lever on the floor by the driver's door that tugs on a cable to open the trunk. At least, I think it's a cable. It also requires the trunk to be open to access the bac...

Re: Missouri TP Doesn't Live In The US

Surf Enterprise Corp... in Missouri?

Somewhere along the coast I'd understand that name. The only waterways I know of in Missouri don't have much good surfing action.

Maybe this indicates Russell Novell has hidden assets in a sunnier location near a beach.

The problem is that such calls typically come from a Voice-over-IP spoofed number, and that by merely answering the call you've identified yourself as a live person with a working number. The VoIP spoofing, plus the fact that the robo-dialer servers are located outside the US, makes it very difficul...

Is there such a thing as a "clean" MLM? They're all built on the business model that says 97% always lose money, about 2% break even after expenses, and less than 1% rake in the Big Bux. Any product, any service, inventory method or subscription method, MLMs are all basically the same. Hal...

You can tell some folk have extra time this weekend.

A hungry troll pops up and people start feeding it. Kinda like at a park.

Re: Repo to hoosegow in twenty-seven words

Hmmm. I wonder who signed the original loan documents, and how the borrower's name was printed on same documents. In regard to the pre-printing, if his loan paperwork was like most I've seen, whoever signed the loan documents probably did so over the words "QUINCY CORNELL", not "Quinc...

Re: John Maclean - the hat man?

As a side note, I think the judge should have issued a bench warrant and sent a constable or whatever the minute he left the court room. The judge did even better. He finished the trial and found MacLean guilty, then issued the warrant. Möwe accidentally omitted the last line of the report. Orr has...

Perhaps the greatest irony of these cases is that sov'runs will tell you they get railroaded by the courts and if the court had just played by real (admiralty) rules, it would have worked. Oh yes, let's play by admiralty rules. From what I can recall (never having studied admiralty, but having had ...

Re: MLM Company with Banking Issues

Greedy scam artist company rep falls for Phishing emails and releases company banking information to Nigerian fraudsters. Or something like that. You think? What goes around comes around. And, as usual in an MLM, it's the affiliates who take it in the shorts. What the Nigerians didn't take the scam ...

Opening up a random sample I see that a lot of them are old - upwards of ten years old.

It would be nice if the injunction dates were also shown in the index.

OTOH, it was nice to go back and read the actual injunctions against some of the most notorious tax defiers of the last decade.

No surprise, really, considering they were already living overseas. The effective tax haven they were enjoying for so many years (US Citizen with unreported income) has been shut down. Time to move on.

Time for the Famspear Challenge! It's up to Famspear to complete the last line of this topical limerick: There was once a poet named Famspear who, regarding limericks, had no fear. One day he posted, with a smile, A story about a flattened crocodile, -------------------------------------------- Wha...

It's transubstantiation. But wouldn't they have to eat the gold and silver specie in order to trigger transubstantiation? No, no. You eat the gold and silver during self-effected consubstantiation. It's just the back-up method when you don't have a properly ordained cleric chanting the appropriate ...

For the first quarter of 2000, James O. Molen submitted a refund claim under a Form 941C that requested a refund for the taxes paid on wages reported for 1997, 1998, and 1999. (Id. at paragraph 5; Stacy Decl. (ECF No. 148-5) paragraph 9.) On November 20, 2000, the IRS erroneously refunded $ 30,005....

This whole thing was triggered because he was caught driving at 38mph in a 25mph zone. That's what, about a $250 fine?

I wonder how much it'll cost him now, assuming they can squeeze blood from that block of stone he calls his head.

Yes, but the free food didn't show up and you know how something like that can just kill attendance at these events. It's now 5:30 pm and the Live Feed camera is aimed at one guy sitting on a bicycle. He's mouthing off for the camera, but otherwise looks like he's leaving. No one else is in sight. ...
