Re: The never ending death march of tax deniers

I'm going to be fair about this. I'm heading down to the library to get a bunch of DVDs of the old BBC Monty Python's Flying Circus and I'll analyze the realtive humor and quality of satire compared to the standard CTC or other tax deniers. Monty's facing pretty heavyweight competition however.

Well, yes, that's why this sub-forum is so dead. There are very few remaining morons.

Which I find very distressing. Those guys were a major source of free entertainment for me. Better than old Monty Python skits.

Re: Coincidence

My wife watches deep insightful movies that speak to the human condition so we go our own way when it comes to viewing choices. We did see Hugo together a while ago. Shallow and gaudy enough for me and it took place in Paris which worked for her. I'm off to Hawaii for the first time in a few months ...

On your recommendation I just put an order in for The Apple at Zip.ca, the Canadian equivalent of Netflick so you'd better have some substance behind the hype. These CDs cost $3 to rent!

Re: The infection is heading north!

A follow-up to Eva Sydel, the dentist who's obsession with the natural person argument basically took over her life. As related in prior posts she ended up doing jail time for criminal tax evasion, a relatively rare event in Canada. She appealed everything to the British Columbia Supreme Court and i...

Re: From Thin Air - New Dinar RV Thread

Kind of sounds like the advice Dove used to give out to the suckers expecting their prosperity "Blessings". Keep quiet, get financial advisers, don't make waves. Might still be good advice, they are apparently patiently waiting yet.

But how would they give change?

Not sure if this fits here but the Bizarre lawsuit thread seems to be interested in fake US bills and this is about as fake as it gets. From Today's CBC News website; Buying microwave with $1M bill leads to arrest Do you have change for a million-dollar bill? Police say a North Carolina man insisted...

Peking Turkey. My two adult sons love it. I brine a boned turkey in a five-star spice and salt mix for a few days then roll it into a roast and glaze it like a Peking duck. Found the recipe in that great repository of fantastic cooking ideas, Google.

Re: What can I get you for Christmas, dear?

I just looked up the lyrics for "I want to Go Skating with Willie". Patti Page sang some real crap, ("Throw Momma from the Train" comes to mind) but these lyrics indicate I've found a new low for her. No inclination to listen to it to find out. Thank god I avoid malls this time o...

I'm neither an Elvis fan nor a Xmas music fan (apart from "An Oscar Peterson Christmas", he even makes Jingle Bells sound great) however Elvis' versions of "I'd Be Home on Christmas Day" and "It Won't Seem Like Christmas Without You" are fantastic. Webhick is unlikely t...

Possibly the Queen of England? So they're not certain but possibly becoming a sovereign will help you cut ties with England. Well sign me up for that. As a member of the bar I was tricked into becomming one of the Queen's minions and I've been having ever so difficult a time getting away from her. ...

Wserra nailed us, we're all sovereigns up here. Liz is the boss! When I joined the federal government in the early 1970s I didn't swear allegiance to Canada, I swore it to the Crown. The queen's face is on our coins and on the $20 bill. We didn't even have Canadian citizenship until 1947, we were Br...
