For any Canadians reading this the rule is never click on any link supposedly from the Canada Revenue Agency. The CRA does not send emails to taxpayers so anything you get which is claimed to be from the CRA is a scam.

The same rule applies here south of the border. The IRS does not send emails to taxpayers.

IRS the nature of this call is to inform you about a lawsuit [unnatural pause]
which has been filed on your name so before we go with legal matter [unnatural pause]
and send this case to the local county court house [pause]
kindly call us back on our number which is [pause]
five one six six nine three eight one four three
I repeat it

thank you and goodbye
These criminals are not specifically too bright.

I would love to be able to get one of these calls and route it to a freeman.

I must count for something, because today I got a fishing fraud pretending to come from the Canadian Revenue Collection Agency. I was in Canada for a weekend 20 years ago and since then only yearning for their poutine.

Last week, I got two of these calls (from the "IRS") in a single day.
