Georgia Couple Sentenced to Prison

An Austell, Georgia, couple was sentenced to prison for their role in a stolen identity tax refund fraud scheme, announced Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Caroline D. Ciraolo of the Justice Department’s Tax Division and U.S. Attorney John A. Horn of the Northern District of Georgia.

On July 27, U.S. District Chief Judge Thomas W. Thrash Jr. for the Northern District of Georgia, sentenced Anthony Alika, 42, to serve 80 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release and Sonia Alika, 27, to serve 21 months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.

I'm sure it is, but we don't usually post about non-protestor/sovereign tax evaders. Perhaps we should have another subforum for that?

This issue pops up from time to time. We simply don't have the space or time to cover every perp who commits some form of tax fraud. The emphasis here at Quatloos is on those idiots who think that they have come up with sure-fire way to argue that they are not legally liable for taxes.

I will move this to the Good Life unless the admins come up with a better place.
