Pretty accurate. For the uninitiated, at one time you could pick up $28 per hour just to swing a hammer at Fort Mac, and many of the rig pigs were making $60 per hour. Not a lot of sympathy for them. I had a neighbour who did income taxes and she was totally amazed at how young single males, with an annual income approaching 100 K$, had absolutely zero tangible assets or savings they might be able to use to reduce their taxes. They had the big truck, never more than two years old, the quad, the snow machine, the bike, and the camper, but didn't own a house and had no retirement savings or anything to cover if they got injured.
