Saw the movie. All I could think of was MC Hammer and "Hammer Time"-- as in, "can't touch this." The movie was about as silly as the hit single.

Its nice to see that Marvel Studios is actually working hard at using the true storylines, with some adaptions, to do the Avengers movies. Unlike the debacle that was the X-men series of movies, so far they have stayed relatively close to the characters, just modernized the scenarios. And have done a terrific job in casting so far. Only thing that sucks was the casting of Chris Evans as Captain America. Even though he probably is perfect for the role, he was already perfect in the Fantastic Four movies as Johnny Storm. I had hoped that since there were crossovers between Fantastic Four and The Avengers that there wouldnt be a conflict so they could use them at a later date. Oh well.

Well---a very tight shirt (green & black), but there may be a tantalising bedroom scene if they left it in the final cut!

I was once hospitalized as a very small child, and when the nurse learned I could read she dug out a couple of comic books for me, of which one was Green Lantern. When I got to go home, I could recite The Oath.

At any rate, I was even younger than the kid in the video. So the GL will always have a special place in my heart as well. Hoping the movie won't disappoint.

Dog, you are profaning the oath. Evil comes in way too many flavors, not just your pet peeve. I'll stick with the original oath, rather than a lame parody.

Left-wing bullsh*t can be evil. Still, the original oath seems preferable.

My point is evil comes in multiple flavors. Left, right, conservative, liberal, pink, green...

No, Wes, but I have been going to physical therapy.

I just don't feel elitist about evil. Although my own especial deeply loathed bugaboo is...hypocrisy. With bad scientific method as a close second.

"Virtually all political discourse in the days of my youth was devoted to the ferreting out of hypocrisy... Because they were hypocrites, the Victorians were despised in the late twentieth century. Many of the persons who held such opinions were, of course, guilty of the most nefarious conduct themselves, and yet saw no paradox in holding such views because they were not hypocrites themselves-they took no moral stances and lived by none."
