You folks will be shocked. The clowns behind EarthQuest are still blathering about investors and ground breaking dates. Chris Brown of Contour Entertainment told the beleaguered taxpayers that mysterious foreign investors would come to Texas the first week of May and then purchase the property by the end of that month. Then EarthQuest was to have its grand opening in 2017.

No investors materialized and the new property in Splendora, TX has not been purchased. They missed the chance to repurchase the original property lost in bankruptcy when the option expired after 18 months in December 2013.

Dr. Matthew Gardner also appeared at the April Improvement District meeting blathering, "we are closer to the finish line than we ever have been in the past." Does this clueless bloke really think the Earthquest Institute charity that he and Don Holbrook ran into the ground is going to be revived?

Chris Brown was also to appear at the July meeting and give an update on the project and was a no show. How long it this taxpayer tragedy going to play out? When is the East Montgomery County Improvement District CEO Frank "The bank" McCrady going to be $hit-canned?

Don Allen Holbrook has yet another glowing recommendation that shouldn't be missed:

And, the clowns promoting EarthQuest are giving yet more dates:

Chris Brown and the mysterious investors did not show as promised. Earthquest will now be taken off of future EMCID agendas until such time as Brown has money and contracts in hand. Earthquest is busted!

Sorry, judge. Here are the two pertinent articles:

http://www.yourhoustonnews.com/clevelan ... 9d3ad.html

http://www.yourhoustonnews.com/courier/ ... 009ee.html

The stories of investors, numerous promised ground breaking dates and bragging of success has been non-stop for years. It appears the charade is now going to end as the Improvement District board is fed up and will not entertain any more Texas tall tales and are demanding money in hand and signed contracts before hosting the Earthquest gang at a future meeting.

This is one of the most hilarious diatribes ever written by Sir Gasbag, Lord and Master of the Internet. I already answered him and pointed out that he could easily sue me in Texas. I figure he may get a much more informative analysis here. He is anxiously waiting for the Texas Rangers to pick me up for a court date with him after all. :beatinghorse:

Another Don Allen Holbrook colossal failure. He made almost $400,000.00 off of a charity that accomplished no charitable work whatsoever and its (non-charitable) purpose of promoting the for profit mega-international destination theme park was an abysmal failure as well. The taxpayers and donors just got screwed again!!!

This just gets more insane by the minute. This buffoon that declared chapter 7 bankruptcy writing off almost 2 million in 2007 while being wined and dined by the East Montgomery County Improvement district with dinosaurs and rollers coasters in their eyes. In that bankruptcy he erased 1.29 million in legal fees alone. He declared bankruptcy again in 2011. He has been fired from 2 economic developer positions and not renewed for a third whilst bragging of 100s of projects worth billions that created 50,000 jobs. Numerous journalists investigated his claims of wild success and can't find anything even close. So, as to what success Holbrook has had remains a mystery. Now, this complete clown is going to advise folks about their finances and wealth building???? :haha:

I'd think a little due diligence on the part of his clients would seem to be more than a bit in order, and they aren't doing it.

Subject: Re: Formal Complaint Against IEDC CEcD and Fellow Member Don Allen Holbrook Part 1

Dear Ms. Dobrott,

In doing my preliminary review I've discovered that Don Holbrook's membership and CEcD status lapsed a few years ago. He is no longer a member of IEDC (and therefore no longer a Fellow Member) and no longer holds the CEcD designation. We currently have no relationship with Don Holbrook and so cannot put this case in front of our Committee on Professional Conduct.

Best regards,

Tracy

Judge Robert D. Sack of the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, author of the defamation treatise, Sack on Defamation: Libel, Slander and Related Problems, describes when a libel suit might result from a work of fiction:
“Where the defendant invents defamatory dialogue or other defamatory details in what purports to be nonfiction, uses actual people as fictional characters, or bases fictional characters on living persons but fails sufficiently to disguise the characters, so that the fictional characters are understood to be ‘of and concerning’ their living models, liability for libel may result.”
Even if the work contains a disclaimer stating that it’s fictional, a libel claim can still arise.

Especially if the author himself writes, "It was inspired by my own dealings with a real life cyber bully who uses an online handle (Soapboxmom) to stalk, harass and defame people online in order to get her own perverse pleasure" and "Heather Dobrott taunted me about that and got hauled into the court system in Ohio . . . . Oh, by the way SOAPBOXMOM my debut novel about a Cyberstalker is coming out soon and boy is it gonna be fun to make fun of people like you in print."

Doesn't seem to leave a lot of doubt as to his intent. The problem will be showing damages, given that no more than six people are likely to read the thing.
