Bob Schulz has finally, totally lost it

The purpose of this board is to track the status of activity, cases, and ultimately the incarceration or fines against TP promoters and certain high-profile TPs.

Bob Schulz has finally, totally lost it

Post by AndyK »

Both of the WTP organizations are involved in Tax Court Collection Due Process cases.
20998-10 and 20999-10

In both of the cases, Bob (who, despite not being an attorney, is representing them) missed the court-ordered filing deadlines for a response to an IRS motion for summary judgment.

So, where is Bob? Look here

Yup, Bob has gone to Wall Street to coopt<<<<< join the protestors and sell them his bill of goods about petitions for redress of grievances (have we heard that one before?)

I think the key word is "sell"

Bob has found a yet-untapped source of funds to support his lifestyle and quixotic crusades.

He has finally passed the point of being pathetic.

I’m sure good ole Bob will have perfectly good retreaded excuses, the dog ate my homework/responses, etc for the tax court, or else maybe he’s figured out that dodge has outlived its usefulness and is trying to find something else to move on to.

The problem is, that if he is expecting to make a living off that crowd, he is seriously slipping, as I don’t think most of them have a pot or anything else, and if they do, they aren’t sharing with Bob. Definitely on the pathetic side at this point. I think maybe it is time for junior to consider lining him up for a nice quiet, cheap, home somewhere where he can’t won’t hurt himself any more.

I think it is safe to say that the Occupy Wall Street crowd, no matter their home life, have better sense than to carry any appreciable amount of cash on them in this street protest. I also think that, since they are complaining that the Rich are not paying their fair share of taxes, they will not be hospitable to someone who preaches that the Rich (and others) don't have to pay taxes at all.

Last week the Reichtwing started spreading the story that the Occupy crowd was smoking pot and having sex right there in their encampment. If this report was intended to cancel out any public sympathy for them it had the wrong effect: Instead it induced a lot of middle-age white men -- the very sort that the cops, et al, don't want to antagonize -- to go down to the encampment in hopes of getting some.

He wasn't comparing the two. He, and I, respect conservatism as the responsible opponent of liberalism, and a necessary check on it (and vice versa). However, there are extremists on both sides; and while I would not have used the term "reichwing", I would contend that there are many similarities between the fascists of old and the right-extremists of today (and between the communists/radical socialists of old and the left-extremists of today).

I do not see many similarities, and in fact see more similarities with the mainstreams of the left and right rather than in the extremes. In terms of economics, fascism was founded on corporatism, something that is virulently opposed by both OSW and the Tea Parties. In terms of culture, fascism was conformist, a trait I do not see in the extreme right.

The only similarity I see is a superficial similarity with militarism. The extreme right just does not go in for fancy uniforms and militaristic trappings in the way fascists and nazis did. Some want to use the military for their political purposes, but that is hardly unique among the right. In fact, there is a whole branch on the right (Buchananites, Paulistas, Paleos) that wants to significantly reduce the role of the military.

The Wall Street Journal, NY Times, NY Post, and UK's DailyMail are the Reichtwing?

Seriously?

I'm not sure Bob Schulz ever had it to begin with.

Now for something completely different -- a post on the original topic:

In both WTP Tax Court cases, effective 10/18/12, Judge Lewis Carluzzo has been assigned the responsibility of "resolving whether petitioner is entitled to challenge the underlying liability giving rise to the instant collection action(s)"

Lew Carluzzo is one hell of a nice guy and an ex-senior attorney with the IRS Office of Chief Counsel. He also is an excellent legal scholar with respect to tax law with one major shortcoming. He totally lacks a sense of humor with respect to tax evaders.

A small bit of news from the election. Rep. Roscoe Bartlett (R) of Maryland was defeated for re-election. Back in the summer of 2001, Bartlett was made aware of Bob Schulz's high profile "hunger strike" to compel the IRS to dignify one of his publicity stunts by sending an official representative. It was one of those We The People hunger strikes wherein people gain weight. Anyway, Bartlett felt sorry for Schulz, so he arranged - not a debate and not an IRS presence at one of Schulz's "events", but that a Dept of Justice lawyer involved with tax cases would give a little lecture (a briefing) to Schulz and a small bunch of Schulz's friends in an unused meeting room in the House Office Bldg sometime in late Sept 2001.

Schulz accepted this, although it was not the date or place he had originally planned (which was at the National Press Club - it rented out its meeting rooms cheap -- on Rosh Hashona -- either because it was a day that was a real bargain with the Press Club and/or it assured that the IRS wouldn't send a Jew). When the Sept 11th attack occurred, this briefing was rescheduled to March 2002.

As always, Schulz tried to turn this into a money-maker and misrepresented it to his followers. Although the entire event was being paid for by the govt, Schulz started shaking the tambourine for "expense" money. He also announced that he'd put questions to the govt lawyers -- he told his followers they were IRS lawyers, not DOJ lawyers -- presumably if you had questions to relay you'd be expected to ante up a commensurate amount of money (and since Schulz didn't reveal the questions he already had planned to ask, he probably collected many times over for the same questions). First Schulz described this as a debate - although there was no indication that anyone other than the DOJ lawyers would speak -- then he described it as a trial: Putting the IRS on trial. He even worked up a slogan that he promoted: "Don't file before the trial". In other words, delay filing one's tax returns until after the event, which was being touted as a sort of death struggle for the IRS with the possibility that the IRS would disappear if Schulz played his part right.

When the IRS got wind of this "Don't File Until the Trial" slogan, it bitched mightily to Bartlett and the DOJ, which promptly pulled out. So Bartlett cancelled the whole thing and let Schulz know that his own greed and publicity scheme had caused the plans to fall through. Schulz, being something of a narcissist, wouldn't admit any fault and blamed it all on IRS duplicity.
