If you didn't realize how corrupt things can get . . .

Post by Judge Roy Bean »

The legal profession should be asking some questions about how far this has been allowed to go for so many years.

On the face of it, is self-policing still viable?

After any number of years watching the abuses of the financial services industry and now seeing the article (link below) appear, I'm reminded of a phrase that now resonates: "Have you no sense of decency, sir, at long last? Have you left no sense of decency?"

Rolling Stone is not alone in this - they're just more blatant even if they miss the target of responsibility on the part of lawyers who stand back while their colleagues turn the crank of injustice.

No, THIS is how corrupt things have already gotten:

"A fund manager for Smith Barney is getting off without felony charges after he allegedly ran over a cyclist with his Mercedes and fled the scene in Eagle, Colorado, because, the DA says, felony charges would be bad for the fund manager's business."
Irony: The Ayn Rand® Institute (ARI) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
