it seems the bank is offering him an out. a renegotiation. if he cant afford the prior deal there might be a compromise. the bank breaks even at cost and makes money at interest. they are offering a renegotiation at a affordable deal.

reasonable to all is kinda how it works. they do not want to lose money, and no one wants to take a family home.

if he chooses to surrender the house there may be a penalty but it wont be huge,

but its big boy decision time. you might have all the way to monday.

take advice or fly kites.

his choice.

Sadly, if he follows the path of the Volks:
  • He'll go back to his buddies that gave him the advice for the trouble he's now in and ask what it means
  • They'll inform him "he's winning" (which he's not) and "he's go the bank on the run, now just follow up with blah blah"
  • He'll follow up on that advice and seal the foreclosure
There seems to be a complete lack of recognition that someone could be reasonable and offer up a "last chance" - compassion and leniency.

Some form of mental disconnect where the OPCA litigants view such a response as a sign of weakness and/or fear. Ironically, that seems to push them to become more aggressive/demanding rather than reasonable.

Perhaps that's part of why certain people will be nothing but bullies while the rest of us shake our heads at their antics, deal with them as simply as necessary to put an end to the situation, and move on.

Sadly, I think just plain everyday good old fashioned stupidity is still the best explanation, as it is largely how they got there to begin with. That and ego. An ever fatal cocktail.

Despite the best of efforts of the WFS legal eagles, it seems that perhaps motorheadv10 has smartened up:
I'm working with family to get a new mortgage or a loan. I'm not going to write another promissory note for them to disregard, it's not working. More study is needed to attack this with a prom. note. Until then I need to get back my title and focus on something else for a change of pace. This is ordeal was very stressful and i have too much to lose.

Sounds like he needs family to co-sign or guarantee the mortgage because the banks won't trust him on his own. If that's the case and if he takes another crack at it, he realizes he will be jeopardizing more than himself in the future.

So this guy has to do a two cushion bank shot just to get the house refinanced.

He has to convince a family member and the bank that he's not as loony as he seems and is not likely to go back down the freeman/sovcit/whatever rabbit hole during the term of the new mortgage.

Staking his guy to set of tools, an old truck or such would be one thing. But backing him on a home refinancing is another thing.

Well, mostly he needs a financially responsible family member to become a co-signer. So this family member would be shouldering the risk. The bank WILL collect real money ... by extracting it from the family member if Freeman falters. Freeman can sputter and pose all he wants at the bank, if the bank doesn't get it from him then they'll get it from the family
member and the bank will end up happy even if nobody else will. In which case, the family member supposedly should be reimbursed by Freeman but I doubt that will happen.

So the question really falls on the family members: How much do you trust Cousin Freeman?

Since he has already been successful in destroying his credit with commercial lenders, he now has the chance to destroy his standing with his family!
Maybe, just maybe, he has actually wised up about this.

Peanutgallery and Littlefred please check your private messages. I've PM both of you under the subject "A favour to ask". Since the three of us use proper Queen's English I didn't have to use that American abomination "favor".

When in Canada, I do as the Canadians do. I'm a member of the Order of the Arrow, the honor camping society (and "brotherhood of cheerful service") of the Boy Scouts of America. I'm also a member of the Knights of Tamara, which is to Tamaracouta Scout Reserve (near Montreal) as the "OA" is to the BSA; and when I write the motto of the Knights, I write it as the Canadians write it: "It is an honour to be a Knight."

So motorhead has had enough pain inflicted on him to finally see how self-destructive his path has been and is trying, as best he can, to cut his losses and patch things up. An expensive lesson but he at least seems to be learning it. However his WFS advisers can't seem to let it go and are still trying to get him back into that death-spiral;

OK, motorheadv10 fine!! And GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I urge you AFTER everything is taken care of to ‘SEW’ CIBC on the grounds that it committed FRAUD on multiple counts, under section 380, subsection (1) of the [Canadian] Criminal Code: http://worldfreemansociety.ca/forum/vnt ... =10#124695

= http://worldfreemansociety.ca/forum/vnt ... =12#133121
380(1) of the Canadian Criminal Code reads;
Fraud

380. (1) Every one who, by deceit, falsehood or other fraudulent means, whether or not it is a false pretence within the meaning of this Act, defrauds the public or any person, whether ascertained or not, of any property, money or valuable security or any service,

(a) is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to a term of imprisonment not exceeding ten years, where the subject-matter of the offence is a testamentary instrument or the value of the subject-matter of the offence exceeds five thousand dollars; or

(b) is guilty
(i) of an indictable offence and is liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years, or
(ii) of an offence punishable on summary conviction,
where the value of the subject-matter of the offence does not exceed five thousand dollars.
Sue the bank for the criminal act of lending you money when you asked them for a mortgage. Grand idea when you are trying to get your life back on track after destroying your credit rating and almost losing your home. If motorhead keeps following WFS advice his new home is going to be a more or less dry spot under a bridge.

not everyone on the wfs promotes such methods. some there promote getting out of it the old fashioned way followed by not getting in debt again.

its a public forum so its open to most opinions. even if some there do not particularly agree with them.

I note that you were the only one that thanked motorhead for his post on how he had recognized defeat and was now trying to repair the damage by dealing with the bank on a mutually cooperative basis. While other WFS posters might share your position on debt you were the only one willing to step up to bat on it in this discussion.

The problem I have with posters like jackieg and verynewtothis is their enthusiasm to have other people be the guinea pigs and follow their disastrously bad advice but, as far as I can see, keep well away from using it themselves. I'd have a lot more respect for them if they practiced what they preached and put their own homes on the line. Get a mortgage then crap on the lender; go the limit and update what happens in real time on WFS. Instead they sat safely on the sidelines and did their best to ensure that motorhead screwed up his life.

jackieg should have a thread here.... he is banned on wfs now. and ickes. and several other forums.....

im not at all afraid to stand up against other opinions. we all must pick our battles and i think losing a house is silly. if you want out of the debt, pay up and sell out. then you dont lose money. and in most spots in canada you are not currently going to lose money selling your house. it just makes more sense.

i dont mistake being broke for standing up for what you belive in....

Just some thoughts as I listen to it.

4:30 they admit that no Freeman has been successful in court. This needs to be emphasized. In ten years of the movement there are no wins.
5:30 talks about a guy who lost his family to Freeman beliefs. This is very common.
8:30 Vinny says Gurus should warn people that there are costs associated with these beliefs. Agreed
11:00 points out that the "freeman victory" videos posted on youtube are all misleading or from 2008. Correctly points out that things have changed drastically in 4 years and courts now deal with this nonsense more harshly.
13:30 Vinny makes some astute observations that Freemanism is a type of mind control.
17:00 "If the experts are giving press conferences from jail then this stuff doesn't work". 100% truth.
20:00 "the movement attracts criminals and scammers" too true.
22:00 "there will be no happy endings for freemen" truth.
and the next posting on this discussion was a commendation for ninja for trying to reverse the destructive tide;

I agree with what Thomas says, about people putting a lot at risk for following this or any other similar movement. That is also where BMX has stepped in at times here in the forum, to help prevent some from getting steam rolled, over the misuse of bad info. (and I do appreciate it, even if he has to hammer it in)
Like the PERSON argument. It might have worked at one time, but those who make the rules, change them as they deem fit to do so, just to keep the cage safe and secure. (as is obvious)

Thomas also pointed out that there are some (which I have seen), that have bad spiritual hygiene, and those are the ones who are the 'spoilers'.
They think they can be careless, and not face some consequence, because they have a distorted understanding of being free.
- I don't particularly enjoy driving slower than I can, however, if there were not some limitations, then the wreck-less would be just that. Same goes for the drunk. And I drink too, but don't do them together. It is also unfortunate, that the 'socialist/communist system' always finds its ways to exploit matters. At times, they seem no better than the alleged criminals.

And those who have sporadically popped in here over time, looking for remedy because they did something immoral, selfish and stupid, make the rest of us look bad, because some think that the WFS is a free ride. And it only takes (took) one or two to give the ideology of freedom a bad wrap. They just don't/didn't get it, yet; but may/might at sometime during their human experience.

It makes all the difference if they/whomever are standing ground for something honest = of moral value. And I think there are a few other than me that have been drawn to this forum, and others, on that premise.

Take for example the monetary system...... how can anything tied to it be written in stone when it is all based on lies? And they maintain the gull to scorn us for objecting? (nothing can overpower the soul)
That happens to be one of my peeves, because a system which is broke-n, should not have the grounds to force, nor effect, because it's roots are based on fraud, extortion, manipulation, lies, deceit, and all the other words that fit the mafia agenda.
My personal angst keeps me grounded to what is moral, honest, and ethical, because I feel I have a duty to be so. Those are my guides, and as long as they do more good than harm, should warrant none less than unfettered respect and understanding. Unfortunately, those attributes, as Matthew stated, can get one crucified.

The only problem is this:
Like the PERSON argument. It might have worked at one time, but those who make the rules, change them as they deem fit to do so, just to keep the cage safe and secure. (as is obvious)
They've admitted something doesn't work but, instead of admitting it was an invalid and stupid argument, complains that someone changed the rules on them. So, still haven't learned anything.
