Intelligence Report, Summer 2012, Issue Number: 146
Republic for The united States of America Plagued by Criminality
By Ryan Lenz

Monty Ervin lived a double identity for many years. In public, he was a wealthy businessman who had amassed hundreds of investment properties across the Southeast that brought in $85,000 a month. But in the shadowed underworld of the antigovernment “sovereign citizens” movement, he was much more — a ranking official with growing influence.

On his properties in Dale County, Ala., Ervin stocked food and compiled what federal authorities described as an “arsenal” of weapons in preparation for the day the federal government collapsed. In his backyard, he buried plastic tubes containing more than $350,000 in gold coins. And when the IRS finally came calling for back taxes on income totaling more than $9 million, he responded with a bold proclamation.

“I, Monty-Wayne, of the family of Ervin, am a sovereign Most Christian Prince,” he wrote in a declaration he filed with the Houston County Probate Court in 2006. “I am not a numbered member of the communitarian welfare benefit trust called Social Security Administration.”

It wasn’t clear at the time, but Ervin’s odd view of the federal government was shared by growing numbers across the country. In South Alabama, men who were part of that movement were laying the foundation for the Republic for the united States of America (RuSA), the largest and most organized sovereign group in the United States today.

Since forming in late 2010, the group claims to have built governments-in-waiting in 38 states and to have membership in nearly every other. When he was arrested last year, Ervin had risen to the rank of “governor” of Alabama. He had long preached his success at avoiding taxes, and he claimed he had no obligation to the United States.

Last November, the courts found otherwise. Ervin and his wife, Patricia, were each convicted of one count of conspiracy to defraud the United States and three counts of tax evasion. As of press time, both were awaiting sentencing.

Ervin isn’t the only RuSA member who has run afoul of the law. A woman in South Alabama has been on the run for several months after being convicted of burglary for removing the “For Sale” sign of a home in foreclosure and declaring ownership. A man in Birmingham is scheduled for trial on charges that he filed bogus property liens and other court documents to intimidate anyone he considered an enemy — a sovereign tactic known as “paper terrorism.” Early last year, in Arizona, a so-called “ambassador” for RuSA was shot and killed after he tried to wrestle a Taser away from a police officer. And more recently, in West Virginia, a former “congressman” for the group was found dead with his 9-year-old son in a burned trailer home — a case that remains under investigation but which authorities have said they believe was a murder-suicide.

The Flames Spread
These are just a few of the many criminal cases arising from the sovereign citizens movement across the country. The vast majority involve tax or financial scams, or defiance of traffic laws, like driving without a license or having fake license plates or IDs. But police are increasingly reporting confrontations with the potential for violence.

Last September, the FBI issued a bulletin to law enforcement agencies that described sovereign citizens as a “domestic terrorist movement.” And in February, the FBI held a news conference to announce it was increasing its scrutiny of the movement. “We started to notice a heightened potential for violence,” said Stu McArthur, deputy director of the FBI’s counterterrorism division.

RuSA’s president, a reclusive figure named James Timothy Turner, insists that members are lawful citizens who have simply uncovered truths about the illegitimacy of the federal government. But the mounting allegations against members of the group are a worrisome sign.

Through interviews with several sources in law enforcement, all on condition of anonymity, the Intelligence Report has learned that RuSA has been under federal investigation for some time.

Law enforcement sources say they fear that the group, which believes the time has come to “re-inhabit” the true government, is becoming more radical and that members are increasingly willing to stand up to defend their views. Several high-profile disagreements within the leadership have led to a large exodus of members; those who remain are a defiant core of sovereigns loyal to RuSA.

While RuSA leaders declined numerous requests for comment, Jack Mizell, a 69-year-old architect in Ozark, Ala., whose house serves as a base of operations for RuSA, did speak on behalf of the group. Over the course of a contentious interview, Mizell seemed interested more in verbal sparring than answering questions. Finally, he brazenly dismissed all criticism leveled against RuSA.

“You have people going around and telling lies and saying folks are going to jump out of the car and shoot you,” Mizell said. “They’re lying. … They can’t tell the truth, because they don’t know what the truth is.”

The “truth” is that in May 2010, sovereigns did “jump out of the car and shoot”— murdering two police officers in West Memphis, Ark. Jerry Kane and his 16-year-old son Joseph, both sovereigns, died in a shower of police gunfire less than an hour later, but not before shooting and seriously wounding two more officers while cornered in a parking lot. The Kanes were not known to have any affiliation with RuSA, but they shared many of the same beliefs.

Schemes, Scams and Conspiracies

The next sovereign to die in a confrontation with law enforcement was one of RuSA’s own. William Foust, a prominent businessman in Page, Ariz., and a RuSA “ambassador,” was shot and killed on June 20, 2011, by a police officer responding to a domestic violence complaint. According to the police report, Foust lunged for the officer’s Taser. But within the echo chamber of the sovereign underground, the story was spun to paint Foust as the first victim in the coming confrontation with Washington — the target of federal assassins, Turner claimed.

“What really happened? Because our investigation shows clearly he was murdered,” Turner said in a radio interview late last year. “Of course, the de facto investigators have covered it all up.”

It’s not uncommon for Turner, one of the most charismatic sovereign leaders in America, to bend the facts to match the fantasy. In the past, he has claimed to have cured leukemia, to have cowed judges with magical pronouncements, and to have discovered secrets of history that unveiled the U.S. government as a “corporation” organized to enslave citizens in financial bondage.

Even with his active imagination, Turner might have trouble explaining away the charges against other RuSA members.

Through internal RuSA documents obtained by the Report and interviews with police and district attorneys, the Report has identified several high-profile criminal cases police have associated with Turner’s group.

Janet Tharpe Hancock, an early RuSA follower, was charged with two counts of felony forgery after she drafted a bogus money order from the “Department of the Treasury” in April 2010. She was also charged with forging a check from the Federal Reserve Bank in Philadelphia. More recently, in December, Hancock was convicted of burglary after she removed a “For Sale” sign from a house in Ozark, Ala., and took up residence.

Speaking after Hancock was convicted, Dale County District Attorney Doug Valeska said she had filed numerous documents identifying herself as “janet tharpe-: for the family hancock” to contest the jurisdiction of the charges, declaring that “dominion to the land” was subject only to “the will of the creator.” (Such language and punctuation of names is typical of sovereigns.) She was sentenced to three years in prison, but did not appear for her sentencing. At press time, her whereabouts were unknown.

In Connecticut, John McGowan, a public television host and former candidate for mayor in Danbury, led a quiet life until the fact that he was a “senator” with RuSA came to light during a trial on charges he forcibly had sex with a woman with whom he was involved. He was convicted of first-degree sexual assault and sentenced to four years in jail. During trial, the woman, whose identity was protected, described him as a “monster.”

In Birmingham, Ala., Donald Joe Barber is scheduled to go to trial later this year on a multitude of charges. He was arrested in late 2010 on charges of harassing city and county officials with unjustified property liens, another example of paper terrorism. Barber was an active sovereign long before RuSA came into being, and law enforcement sources suspect, but have not confirmed, that he has ties to the group. A decade before his arrest, he filed a $5 million lien on the Jefferson County Courthouse, apparently in retaliation for the county suing him over his failure to pay sewer fees for a coffee shop he owned. Randy Christian of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, said only this regarding Barber: “These are strange times we are living in.”
Law enforcement sources in Alabama say several other RuSA members also have been arrested on tax charges in recent months. And they have documented instances in which RuSA members attempted to buy machine guns, in one case, and armor piercing bullets for a 10 mm pistol in another.

Defiance and Death

The rise of RuSA is very much part of the resurgence of the antigovernment “Patriot” movement. In May 2009, some 30 self-styled “freedom keepers” convened a meeting at a resort on Georgia’s Jekyll Island. That “continental congress” appears to have played a key role in reinvigorating the Patriot movement, which had languished in obscurity since the late 1990s. Since the meeting, the movement has exploded — rising by more than 750% in three years, from just 149 groups in 2008 to 1,274 by the end of 2011.

The Report has learned that nine people who are identified as RuSA “congressman” in internal group documents were delegates at that 11-day meeting, which was hosted the Patriot group We the People.

RuSA was formed the following year at a secret 2010 meeting in Utah. In early 2011, RuSA sent letters to every sheriff in the nation, ostensibly to introduce the group as a peaceful, grassroots organization demanding political reforms. In reality, though, the letter raised alarms about the group’s real intentions.

Recently, as members have grown restive about a perceived lack of action against the government, Turner’s rhetoric has veered ever closer to the realm of insurrection. Even so, he incessantly describes his followers as law-abiding citizens. During one recent radio interview with RJ Hender, host of the Patriot radio show “Morning Liberty” and a member of RuSA in Texas, Turner said the problems with America were, at root, the result of its political system. The time has come, he said, for a new government.

"I’ve said it a thousand times, and I’ll probably say it another thousand times: Washington cannot be fixed. Period. It was created in deception,” Turner said, his voice never rising above a steady calm.

It’s worth noting that Turner has never openly called for an insurrection, and he has not condoned the criminality of his followers. But he also has not publicly condemned it. His actions suggest he is willing to let the cards fall where they may — no matter the tragic mess such beliefs may sometimes help produce.

David Hutzler, a one-time RuSA “congressman,” is a prime example of that tragedy. In January, he was found dead with his 9-year-old son James, known as “Mack,” in the charred remains of a trailer home in Glengary, W.Va. Each had been shot in the head, and investigators found accelerants used to start the fire scattered around the property. An autopsy later determined that one bullet had grazed the young boy’s chin before a second took his life — a detail that left terrifying questions.

Exactly what happened that day remains clouded in mystery. But what is known is that Hutzler was tightly connected with Turner’s group before he left, disappointed with Turner’s inaction confronting the federal government. He didn’t give up the mission, though, or abandon Turner’s message. Instead, he littered the Internet with tirades claiming the Constitution needed a “reset.” Laws didn’t matter, he mused, not when the federal government was tyrannical.

On Jan. 3, Hutzler posted a rant on the popular antigovernment forum “Weekly Geo-Political News and Analysis.” He warned that the federal government was systematically dismantling U.S. currency — a theme widely circulated throughout RuSA — and said it wouldn’t be long before enlightened Patriots had no choice but insurrection. “The moment the first [person] is picked up, taken into custody or ‘disappeared’ by any law enforcement organization or military department (including special ops) … it’s gonna be ‘game on’ for a lot of folks,” he wrote.

Three days later, he was dead.

David Hutzler, a "congress-man" in the Republic for the United States, wrote in January that insurrection might be around the corner. Three days later, he and his 9-year-old son were dead in what police say may have been a murder-suicide.

‘Game On’

The same month Hutzler died, Turner filed a federal lawsuit in Alabama accusing President Obama, the U.S. Senate, the U.S. House of Representatives and a dozen Alabama sheriffs of malfeasance, misfeasance and libel for their characterization of sovereigns and RuSA. The complaint also named Bob Paudert, the former West Memphis, Ark., police chief whose son was one of the two officers killed by the Kanes during a traffic stop in 2010.

Among the allegations: Turner “is being subjected to a series of well-planned and well-executed smear campaigns while being branded an anti-government person.” The complaint went on to reference John the Baptist and to quote the Atlantic Charter of 1941, the Federalist Papers and John Stuart Mill’s On Liberty. The lawsuit demands $650 million in damages for the “public humiliation, hatred, contempt, [and] ridicule” Turner has allegedly suffered.

Turner declined several requests to be interviewed for this article, as did Navin Naidu, a sovereign “ecclesiastical” attorney who Turner described as his personal counsel.

But as RuSA lurches forward into an uncertain future, it is clear that Turner and his associates have not blanched in the face of recent events that have drawn significant law enforcement attention. Instead, it seems the group is as defiant as ever — and prepared to make a stand, if needed.

Several RuSA members in rural Alabama are in the midst of property foreclosures. In February, the People’s Bank in Dothan, Ala., foreclosed on two parcels of rural land totaling roughly 52 acres belonging to Turner after he failed to make payments on a mortgage dating to June 2006. The same day the foreclosure was filed, the land was auctioned from the steps of the Dale County Courthouse. The bank bought the land, and there wasn’t a peep of protest from Turner, despite having burst onto the sovereign scene in 2007 peddling mortgage relief strategies.

Law enforcement officials in Alabama have told the Report that they are concerned. Because Turner didn’t act to forestall the loss of his land, it is unclear what, if anything, he has planned. Is he preparing to make a stand? Has he lost control of the house of cards he has spent two years building?

The answers to those questions remain unclear. But there’s little doubt about Turner’s unswerving dedication to his radical ideology.

“We have got to move this thing forward,” Turner said recently during an address to his followers. “Our time is very short. … We the people of the United States of America are the most powerful force on earth. We are more powerful than militaries. We’re more powerful than any government. … We are a nation of kings and queens.”

The RuSA has cancelled all its conference calls for the last week of May. It did come out with a resolution against the Oklahoma tornado.

Because it wasn't natural born in the US and came from Kenya, or am I mixing my conspiracies up?

No, because it was the product of a "weather weapon" controlled by the government.

Yes, and of course we have authoritative, scientific data that this occurs! Remember Shaun ("Sovereign") Kranish? He was an acolyte of Edward Lewis (it's "Freemasonry and Judaism") Brown. Back around the year 2007, Kranish was writing gems like this:
We can completely create, destroy, or steer hurricanes. We can move fronts, weather systems, just about anything we want to do with the weather. I've seen them doing it all this year, and last year.

But did they pass a joint resolution outlawing them? Now that would have been real pretend government in action.

True, but why let common sense, reason, and reality get in the way of a good paranoid rant. Facts just confuse the issue.

As an aside, after reading the previous message and thinking on it a bit, I was just wondering if they canceled the calls because they couldn't afford to do them anymore? i would be willing to bet that the pretend treasury is broke or all but broke after Jimmy Tim got done with it.

According to their excuse, it was because some people would be traveling on Memorial Day or stretching the holiday out for a week's vacation.

There are, however, signs of internal breakdown in the RuSA. For a relatively long time (about a year) they were concealing, even from the membership, a supposed organic document known as the Utah Document. So far the only portion made public - and in just the last two months (although the same text, not identified as the Utah Document, was bandied about two years ago) - is the paragraph about "the accurate Holy Bible", which itself aroused the curiosity of several members. In the meantime, two competing Congresses, a President now in the slammer who won't yet resign and keeps issuing speeches to the troops, an Acting President, an Acting Speaker, a temp President of the Senate, etc.

fortinbras, under other circumstances, I would say you have a way with words, but in this instance the lily cannot be gilded enough, your talent for understatement has reached new heights. "Excuse" and "internal breakdown" not the least.

With all the acting pretend officers and participants, it is getting hard to keep the cast of clowns straight. I suspect that the pretend gov't has so many secrets from itself that it doesn't even know all of them anymore, but they're secret for sure.

I really would like to know what the Utah document entails, as I am sure it harbors a whole new treasure trove of unintended comedy and free amusement for those of us who can actually read and think. Not that the pretendees haven't been doing their duty and providing us with lots of unintended mirth, but we could definitely do with some fresh newer material to laugh at.

My question is, why conference calls in the first place? Why not use one of the many free videocasting sites out there?

As most of this crowd appears to be barely literate to begin with, and only marginally functional in the real world as it is, I would suspect that none of them are computer literate or enough aware to even think of such an innovation, plus they couldn't control it as much as they do the conference calls. Plus, they would have to actually pay someone to do that for them, and I doubt if they have the cash to set it up.

Not only what notorial said video casting takes good equipment if you want a good result. Yeah, there are a bunch of free services available but most of the free ones have limits built in with how many can see what you're doing and it would require decent computer, decent web cam and decent connection to not be a nightmare. A conference call requires a phone and you can blame any issues with it on the phone company. And, quite frankly, it may well be that the leaders don't want others to really see what they look like.

One of the annoyances is that it is possible to phone in later and listen to a playback of the entire conference call .... but, as with the original call, this requires tying up the family phone for about 2 hours, and there doesn't seem to be a way to skip ahead or go back and repeat part of the recording. It would be very nice if, instead, the RuSA posted the audio on the internet, with the usual fast forward and rewind capabilities but, as suggested, I suspect that they are not savvy enough.

fortinbras, again quite true, but again see my previous comment. My impression, and that is all it is, though based on their actions and behaviors, is that this group is all considerably older rather than younger, highly marginalized, not what could even sarcastically call well educated, and not even remotely related to what I call the cell phone generation, who now seem to be aurally attached and fixated. The telephone is about as new fangled as the FRuSAs can cope with. There are times when I harbor the deep and abiding suspicion that fire and the auto-mo-bile are right at the burning edge of their capabilities, but that is just my low, nasty and prejudicial, mind at work. I am quite sure that actually using a computer to do a webcast or such would be well beyond the scope of most if not all of their membership. My personal suspicion, is that if if goes beyond doing simple cut and paste of what ever screed they are peddling or subscribing to this week, that it is well beyond them.

This is the latest from RuSA:
(quote):
Republic for the United States of America
The Hertler Report

Weekly Coverage and Reporting of Current Events, Issues, and Trends
of The Republic for the United States of America
By Jean Hertler, Wednesday, July 17, 2013

Produced by Acting Secretary of State Jeanine Stewart, the Thursday Republic News Network was opened with introduction to the Republic by Host and Moderator, Kelby Smith. Returning to the program after a brief leave of absence, Kelby presented "for the people of the Corporate United States of America and its employees, law enforcement, 14th amendment citizens, and the men and women of our armed services. This Republic we've re-inhabited, we are law-abiding, peaceful. We found some amazing truths and are sharing these truths with the rest of the world."

Kelby provided background from just over 3 years ago in the process of bringing "the people" in this country together to re-inhabit the "de jure" or original form of republic government that was vacated in the 1800s. "It was a major process. It was a tough, long road." Citing Supreme Court cases at law evidencing the 2 forms of government, Kelby commented on what is known as the current Federal government. "What they had done is form a corporation and structured an entity that they could run. The top is not Barak Obama. It's a much bigger, much different agenda than you really think."

Touching on the unlawful mortgage foreclosures that occur daily throughout the country as well as the deception put on the American people into thinking that they've been lent money to purchase their homes, Kelby interjected the serious need for the people to stand up against the tyranny and theft of peoples' private property. "It's done through color of law and through a United Nations conference that was held June of 1992 in Rio de Janeiro...it's called 'Agenda 21'." "They use key words like 'sustainable development,' and teach it in colleges [when the true meaning of the wording is opposite or] an oxymoron." Kelby touched on some of the details of this secret and destructive Agenda that includes genocide.

Including insights on the projected "governmental" benefits and privileges offered to bait individuals in becoming "a subject of something while not realizing that it is a corporation" while at the same time villain-izing the word "sovereign" and outlawing "sovereign citizens." "The beautiful word, 'sovereign' has been turned ugly. That beautiful word speaks of only one Being or Entity and that's God. There is no other Sovereign anywhere other than God. God says in the book of Genesis 1:26, 28 that we are to have dominion over all the earth. This is lawfully something for you to consider."

"Instead of going after the real cartel...the real thieves...the true criminals, they actually isolate and they teach their law enforcement that really we are a bad group of people." Kelby expressed a deep love for the people who work for the corporation "government." "Every agent, law enforcement officer, every armed force such as the Army, Navy, we love you so much that we have put our lives, our wealth, our reputation on the line just like our Founding Fathers did. Those men that laid their lives on the line back in the day were [viewed by Great Britain as] terrorists and dangerous. Back then those men actually fought, they took up arms against the king. We don't claim that, we don't want to have that. What we want is what we have and we want the de facto and the members of it to support it because it is the lawful form of government. We want the corporate structures and the corporate entities to stop stealing from Americans under the color of law and this movement called 'freedom and democracy' because we need to stop supporting the one world agenda. We need to start supporting our Lord and what He had planned for us in giving us this country back in 1776. This is the greatest nation on the face of the earth. We have such a privilege to serve even you guys and we will serve you at the highest capacity and with only integral thoughts and actions. That means we will live up to the oath of office that we support and stand. God supports our Republic and He supports this nation and every innocent on this world...He wins in the end. I ask you guys to come on this side. There are movements all over this country that are standing up...if they saw what we have done, our intent and saw that the law supports it and the Supreme Court supports it and if they knew that all we need to do is fund this thing out and get the people together and stand up for this nation, we could do it but we can't do it hiding. We can't do it in quitting. We have to stand up to the Beast."

Acting Secretary Stewart inquired of Kelby pertaining to the project he's been working on while on leave. Kelby advises that it pertains to a means of stopping foreclosures. He reports that in the testing stage of 10 people, there have been 10 successes. Referring to the municipal corporation courts, "they don't know what to do with it or what to do. It stops foreclosure in its tracks." More can be learned about this project at Kelby's website www.hisadvocates.org .

Acting Secretary of State Jeanine Stewart announced that letters of character reference for President Turner are requested to be submitted to his assistance of counsel before July 22nd to enable them to go through and organize the letters for presenting at the sentencing hearing. Another announcement included congratulations to Acting President Geiger and his wife, Suzanne on the birth of a new grandson born on July 10, 2013.

Chair of the Senate Brett LaRue (Oklahoma) "dovetailed" on Kelby's topic, "[there is a ] very serious importance of understanding the laws that have been put into place that have been done under the guise of being for the People and they're absolutely not." LaRue exhorted listeners to review the Statutes at Large and decisions of the Supreme Court which may be found on the National website at the Resource Library page. "The information is all there just like it is in the Bible. Everything is clearly spelled out and what they did - we need to have an army of people working on this to get to the root and trace step-by-step how this thing has been turned against us." With reference to researching rules for the Senate and the Congress as well as learning about the documentation to admit a State into the union, "there is so much work involved and just getting to the definitions of the words... which are so critical." The Senator advises that understanding the definitions of words is critical in communication.

'[Different meanings for the same words] is how we have been enslaved. That's just the root of it." "The week after they incorporated the District of Columbia, they passed a law that made persons equal to bodies politic and corporations and then they systematically enslave the people taking away our right to operate in the private [while] the corporations operate in the private and the public. So they've taken away our opportunity to maintain our dominion ...these are the things that we're discovering as we're going back through the laws, rules, everything in Congress. That's what we're working on, we're faithfully doing it. We need a lot of support, we need a lot of help. I appeal to you...come and prove us wrong...we're not here to be right, we're here to do what's right...for the country. The more people that are participating, the more momentum that we will have, the more power that we will have spiritually, with all of our minds operating in the same lines."

On the topic of current nominees for a Republic Attorney General as well as various State governors, LaRue stated, "Based on organic law or what are considered organic laws for our country are the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, the Northwest Ordinance, and the Constitution of the United States. So utilizing those documents as organic law, meaning the laws that by the Providence of God have been ordained and established as from and with the power that's been delegated by the People. That's the only way that those things can really exist. Statutes and codes... things like that ... that are contrary to those organic laws, are null and void on their face. They're repugnant, they're contrary. The word that's used in the Constitution is contrary. The Judges of every State are bound to uphold the laws that are not contrary to the Constitution. So any law that's on the book that's in line with the Constitution, those are the only laws that the Judges are to uphold. We're not finding that that's the case. So in our effort to expand and to help the States to develop their temporary government we are carrying forward the Northwest Ordinance and we are assigning or appointing leadership on a temporary basis in the States that don't have any so that there can be a republican form of government...so that the people can have a place to rally and to come together in this effort to restore our country to our lawful de jure law."

"According to the Constitution and the Northwest Ordinance those things were done through the Congress of the Northwest Ordinance...the appointments and the removal from office. When the Constitution was adopted those powers were passed to the President with the advice and consent of the Senate. So the Senate is going to be pulling its committees together to interview and to vet the nominees and to confirm them and bring them before the Senate so that we can continue to move forward. Having an Attorney General is going to be a huge thing for us because there are going to be some cases that cannot be considered without an AG. So it's got to go that way. The justices of the Supreme Court are not allowed to do their own investigations. They have to have another working body to do those investigations with the authority to do that. That's part of our process where we have nominees for several States to be Governors and they're working diligently, people with really great hearts that are here to serve and just want to do what's right and are willing to do whatever it is to do but the call of the hour is that we need to have this leadership in place so that people have a rallying point. Those are the things that were working on right now."

Senator LaRue stated that Acting Secretary of State Stewart had appointed an Assistant Secretary of State with the advice and consent of the Senate. "The Senate is going to be pulling the Foreign Affairs Committee together so that we can [do this]. We're making a lot of progress. We're doing everything that we can to learn the right process so that we can do it right. We would value anybody that has the experience, the desire, or the expertise to help us and to contribute in that effort."

Speaker of the House John Rockwell (Oregon) concurred with Kelby Smith and Senator LaRue. "I'm in agreement and say that we're unified in the direction we're going because our direction is under God and God is our leader of this country and Republic, because it is His Republic."

Speaker pro tempore Eugene Krzyzanowski (Illinois) advised that the House continues to work on rules to meet demands and way of operation in the modern day today."

The Treading Waters segment of the Republic News Network in which Roger Waters (Indiana) presents current events stories that expose some of the things that are happening in the world, relate it to the Republic, and use it as a recruiting tool to show that the Republic is the answer. Waters presents an anchorman-type format of brief, concise current events headlines that most likely are not being reported through United States mainstream media.

Some key current event items reported include:

Worldwide Arrest have been issued for the arrest of former US President George W. Bush and US President Barack Obama by an independent War Crimes Tribunal attached to the Hague in Netherlands. More warrants are expected against other US politicians and generals. Attorneys representing Bush and Obama are recommending that they do not leave the boundaries of the United States, however, Interpol has diplomatic immunity in the United States.

Economist Caution: Prepare for 'Massive Wealth Destruction' Marc Faber, the noted Swiss economist and investor, when he was asked what sort of odds he put on a global recession happening, the economist famous for his ominous predictions quickly answered..."100 percent."

SCOTUS, Supreme Court Of The United States - What they really did to us: The ACLU's founder, Roger Baldwin, stated: "We are for SOCIALISM, disarmament, and ultimately for abolishing the state itself... We seek the social ownership of property, the abolition of the propertied class, and the SOLE CONTROL of those who produce wealth. COMMUNISM is the goal." Included in Waters' report is the dollar figure that Judges and Courts are paid above their wages for saving, gaining, and or invention that saves the Feds money.

So where does that leave the Churches? Having provided the basis of what the Supreme Court has done in violation of the Constitution, Waters' boldly addresses the effect on the Church in being government-controlled. "So now the 501c3 churches in the United States have a gag order handed down by then Senator L. B. Johnson in 1954.

The RCRC, Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice (Abortion). Forty years ago, when abortion was illegal and unsafe procedures caused physical suffering and death, clergy took action to save women's lives and health. Rev. Howard Moody of Judson Memorial Church in New York City brought together a small group of ministers and rabbis to assist women seeking safe, secure, and low-cost abortions. The service eventually grew to include about 1,400 clergy across the nation, who referred thousands of women to doctors in the U.S. and abroad, and was a nucleus of efforts to change the laws. Clergy continue to have a central role in counseling women. In honor of the Clergy Consultation Service and Rev. Moody, the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice has established a fund to support training clergy counselors.

The Republic Informational Call for Governors as well as for free state Executive and Judicial Branch officers has been active every Monday for over 2 years. The call is chaired by Indiana Governor Dan Owens who exhorts the Governors to participation as momentum is being gained in building the Republic.

Acting President Jim Geiger commented that the day at sunset begins the 9th of Av on the Hebrew calendar. He explained that the Jewish community commemorates the experiencing of bad times such as the destruction of both the first and second temples in Jerusalem; it was probably the day that Adam and Eve sinned, the day the spies came back and gave the ill report about entering the Promised Land. Regarding the restored Republic, Geiger stated, "My report is good... we've done what we need to do as far as our standing goes. There is nothing else for us to really do except to quietly grow and let the American people know who we are, that we have stood up on their behalf, and that we have accomplished that which was set before us to do." Acting President Geiger advised that there are good things happening on the private side of the Republic.

Chair of the Senate Brett LaRue (Oklahoma) reports that the Senate will be voting on a Chair for the Judiciary Committee as well as new Chairs and staff for other committees. "We've done what we need to do to stand; now we're filling in the gaps of information and learning the processes and procedures so that we are prepared to teach the people what the right way is supposed to be." Senator LaRue advises that there will be a great need for education throughout the entire system "because we've never been taught those things."

LaRue explained the history of the Senate. In first starting in 1789 they came up with a basic set of rules and as they grew there was a need to have a group of Senators research and vet things that were brought before the body of the Senate. There are 30+ standing committees in the Senate and there are also select committees for very specific purposes that don't need to be in session all of the time. There are also ad hoc committees that are called up for special purpose. Standing committees are those that have been voted upon by the Senate body to maintain a constant group. There are usually 7 to 9 members of the committee. Examples cited were the Senate Judiciary Committee that would vet Judges and people that would hold those kinds of positions that the President may nominate. The Foreign Affairs Committee would vet a new Secretary of State or an Assistant Secretary of State. They all have specific purposes. As the people would approach the House or the Senate with ideas, a committee would be formed for review and research, then coming back to the respective body and make a report and recommendation for some kind of legislation that might be proposed. LaRue made suggestion of putting a list of the various types of committees together in effort to educate the people.

Speaker of the House John Rockwell advises that the House meets this week and at the same time that the Senate meets, as prescribed by the Constitution. He looks forward to hearing an update on the Recruitment Committee. Speaker Rockwell invites attendees to listen at the gallery of the next House session to learn about something new that has come up.

Governor Sharon Anzaldi (Illinois) reported on a recent personal discovery pertaining to the United States Court of Federal Claims which she advises is "the peoples' court." Anzaldi advises that those that have been in the trenches of the Federal courts will find that "it is an amazing presentation on how people file claims against the government for injustice." Referencing a quote by Abraham Lincoln, "It is as much the duty of the government to render prompt justice against itself in favor of citizens as it is to administer the same between private individuals," Anzaldi reports that the Court's website includes a mission statement which includes the role of the United States Court of Federal Claims: It is integrally related to the fundamental principle of the U.S. Constitution that individuals do have rights against the government. The Court traces its origin back to 1855. It's a place of redress for egregious acts committed against the people. It is separate from the U.S. District Courts. "The website shows the ways to file claims for just about every horrible offense that is committed against the people. The Court of Federal Claims has an extraordinary heritage and unique pedigree for the Federal Judiciary. Founded in 1855 in the United States Court of Claims it is one of the oldest Federal courts in the nation." http://www.uscfc.uscourts.gov/sites/def ... ochure.pdf

"I have found the best place to study is the Illinois Institute of Continuing Education for Barred Attorneys. It tells you exactly what to do, case law, how to go about it, has appeal forms, stated time limits." Anzaldi suggests that everyone look up in their own State what the lawyers are being taught by the Institution or by seasoned fellow attorneys. "It is our duty to know what is being taught to the attorneys. Anyone with a license has continuing ed to go on further. At Illinois the website is iicle.com The binder book cost is $250."

"Every case over a year is considered an infamous crime or a criminal act. According to the 5th Amendment, no one shall be held for an infamous crime unless by a Grand Jury hearing. That has not been followed in today's courts. It says that this right cannot be ignored unless waived. I don't believe that there have been many of us that have had those opportunities. These Grand Jury hearings are generally audio and video so you can request to see an in-camera view of the procedure. It would be a sure-fired way to find out if anyone was indicted as they should be or if it was just all nonsense."

"Most people don't know that there are actually 2 juries involved; one is the Grand Jury which precedes the indictment or should, and the other is through the trial jury. I've had many friends through the years that have said that if ever you expect to win a case you should attack the Grand Jury. Now after reading all of this I am certain that is the way to go. I am certain that at least 90 percent of the people that are in prison today did not have a Grand Jury prior to a kidnapping or arrest. This is information that everyone should know so they know where to research, how to use their laws and how to repeal or subpoena."

Governor Owens expressed enthusiasm in response to Governor Anzaldi's report and interjected that it parallels the pursuit of education for Republic officers as well as the people. Owens introduced Republic Attorney General nominee Jim Cihak (Illinois) as an individual that presents good information and ideas.

Mr. Cihak expressed support for Acting President Geiger's direction in moving forward with education. Should he receive the Senate confirmation of appointment as Attorney General, Cihak stated, "I feel that the responsibility in the education starts with me." Understanding the "tremendous and huge responsibility" that the position presents, Mr. Cihak advises that it took diligence in prayer and soul searching to be sure that he could live up to the responsibilities. Cihak says that he doesn't put a lot of stock into titles but instead puts stock in results. Currently working in sales and marketing, Cihak said that he worked 14 years in de facto law enforcement starting as a Patrolman working his way up to Commander. "Most officers are oath keepers...and are educated in Constitutional law and the rights of the people." Cihak acknowledges that there are some "Barney Fifes" or even overzealous law enforcement officers out there, however, many have right motive.

"It is my responsibility to become as educated factually as possible in the U.S. Constitution, the properly ratified Articles and Amendments, the Bill of Rights and everything that is there to protect the people of our country." Cihak advises that domiciling near Chicago affords him access to a number of Constitutional law professors who are teaching classes. "By attending the types of seminars, symposiums and classes ...that education is going to be incredibly valuable for a number of reasons." Once achieving the knowledge he would like to structure a training syllabus for Constitutional law.

Cihak said that the more he talks and listens to people who are not yet fully awake, both in and outside of the Republic, he hasn't always been able to convince them to come to a general meeting and see what the Republic has to offer, what it's about and what the Republic is doing. "I feel it's a tremendous amount of responsibility to make sure that we all have a basic foundational understanding of the Constitution, the ratified Amendments and the Bill of Rights. Everybody I talk to has a different level of knowledge and I find that that disparity is in some ways counterproductive for us." Cihak expresses a confidence in right direction to include implementing education and training in each State with a goal of one meeting a month, 12 a year.

"In those 12 meetings I think we could bring everybody to a basic understanding of the Constitution and Constitutional law and what that truly means ...what that was truly designed to do. Based on fact, not opinion, not subjective so when State meetings take place and they seek to amend their State Constitution that there is enough of an understanding ...we will find out if we are in line with ...or repugnant to that. I know there have been challenges in the past. We are not a nation state, this is a [union of] free states and to be so we need to be educated. I find a disparity in the level of understanding that the Founding Fathers, brilliant men, brought to the table and put forth - the laws of God, the laws of man."

Cihak stated that people on the street are not generally apprised of what a democracy or what a republic is. He also suggested ideas in keeping the education plan cycling to allow newcomers to enter in at the time they arrive and continue through the completion. People will become empowered with education because knowledge is power. "It's like building a house. If you have that solid foundation in place, you can build upon that...we want to go from the fundamental principles."

Cihak looks forward to meeting others while attending Constitutional classes and in particular judges and attorneys. "I look at the judicial system as broken but not unfixable. Having discussion with New Jersey Governor Nominee Cory Perkins and reviewing the association of non-attorney Judges that number over 13,000 in our country ...their job is to limited jurisdiction to apply the laws based on fairness and equity for everyone across the country, not based on the dollar. They certainly are operating within the laws as they exist now and applying compassion and justice." Cihak states the goal in education is to be able to speak with integrity and knowledge of our history and not because of something we heard on liberal or conservative news media.

Attorney General nominee Jim Cihak interjects that once the overall level of knowledge is brought up from many differing levels of education and knowledge within the membership and put in layman's terms with an understanding of the basic principles of founding documents, "we've already made a huge step. Then we can move forward with people wanting to be involved. I think they're afraid to step up because they lack that knowledge. They may be concerned that their opinion may not be taken seriously because they don't have the basis of that understanding and I'd like to eliminate that. We want people more involved. We want people to be confident in their education and their knowledge."

Governor Owens agreed with AG nominee Cihak, "Credibility is everything when you're doing what we are in trying to do, in trying to establish. As we talk to people and recruit people if we don't have credibility and we just are repeating things that we think we know or think we've heard, it damages us all." Owens clarified that the program talked about does not have association with de facto Judges but are Judges that are actually applying the law. "The 13,000 Judges could end up in the Republic as Judges because they're going to have a much better understanding of what it is to actually apply the law. To communicate and study with them and build that into our judicial branch, they're actually studying law. They're not studying process or procedures. Not everything or person in the de facto is bad. A majority of the things that they do because of the money and corruption obviously creates some real problems but there are people that are just ignorant to what is going on."

Mr. Cihak concurred with Governor Anzaldi on the importance of professionalism. "You never want to put the de facto court or your position in dishonor... you always want to be absolutely professional. It is knowledge and the words that are spoken and written that state your case. It is not an attitude...we have to remember that some of the attorneys have not woken up yet. Very few of the Judges have not woken up. I think that every BAR Judge is fully awake and aware. I think it is part of the indoctrination process...having $80-200,000 into their education and then waking up you already have a tremendous investment in your future." Cihak surmises that whether they agree or disagree that it is hard to turn ones' back on that much debt for their career and think that maybe it's possible to make a difference down the road. "I don't blame the attorneys themselves for what they're doing. I blame the system. They have been indoctrinated. They have been either brainwashed or forced because of their debt to continue their career in the capacity they have to continue...it doesn't mean they're bad people."

There was some discussion about the oath that government officials have taken as well as the inability experienced in trying to learn what federal officials have taken an oath to. Acting Secretary of State Stewart advised that Republic Congress legislation that has been previously passed is available for viewing on the national website by following the Press Release tab and then the Congressional Press Release tab.

This conference call went twice the average length of time and was stirred with enthusiasm and interjection by various Justices like Pete Moake (one supreme Court) and John Eicher (Indiana) as well as Governors Smith (Nebraska) and Counsel General Nelson (Colorado). Senator LaRue exhorts all to developing good habits in study using right words and reminding the officers of Biblical principles such as "blessing comes with obedience."

I ordinarily would relieve myself of various comments about some of the things mentioned here, such as the Federal Claims Court (perhaps better known under its former name, the Court of Claims), and the Fast of the 9th of Av, but I think this is res loquitor.

I wonder if some of the participants might turn out to be gamers under the impression that this is some sort of conspiracy theory larp. Otoh, if i were asked to design a contemporary larp, i'd be very tempted to use this as a model.

The only problem is that none of these people have anything resembling a sense of humor, let alone that much imagination or creativity as they continue to prove using their old rehashed congames. They're dead serious. As to a good LARP model, probably scarily good.

One of the things I have noticed is a VERY superficial grasp of American history, including the Federalist era. They muddle the religiosity of the earliest colonists, like the Mayflower pilgrims, with the Founders, and muddle the actual Founders with the most evanescent pamphleteers.
