SF Bay Area ABC affiliate's story on Sovereigns

Some Bay Area residents say they are no longer part of this country. They've joined a group that says it has formed its own U.S. government with its own laws and leaders. Individuals with similar beliefs have been linked to crimes, including killing police officers. The ABC7 News I-Team was able to get into one of their meetings for a look inside the Republic for the united States of America and the people from across California who have formed a shadow government for when the real one collapses.

The so-called sovereign citizen movement has grown in recent years but even the FBI doesn't know how many people are involved. Some experts say there may be hundreds of thousands.

I like their flag with its concentric rings of 5, 10, 15 and 20 stars.

Sounds like their flag was designed by an OCD five-year old with a packet of stickers who inadvertently created the most patriotic bulls-eye EVAR.

Re: ABC New - California Bay Area - from Senator Debbie Ringchop

Media is starting - Channel 7 ABC News in San Francisco just ran this 5 minute story, focus on Republic, and tagged in other sovereign groups, but emphasis that Republic is non-violent. Even FBI interview was only worried about individuals that may become violent. Overall it was a positive piece.

Includes quotes from California Senators Debbie Ringchop, Diane Thomas, Rep Dale Harms, and Chief Justice John Gorla.

They even include our websites. PLEASE get people tweeting and facebook and linking and commenting often on this piece. We can comment to correct the slightly off statements made by media.

(a) Thank God that Demo hasn't abandoned us.

(b) The bit in the newsreel about the Congressional Oath being changed in 1871 (when Congress reorganized the govt of the District of Columbia into a corporate municipality) is wrong. The Congressional Oath has changed since the Founding of the Republic, but principally during the Civil War and Reconstruction. No change in the oath is associated with the incorporating of the District of Columbia. See:

This is part of what RuSA thinks is going to be a national media blitz on the heels of its upcoming fake Presidential election. And, to be honest, they are likely to get a few local news stories about this because the group is just so insane bored news producers will find the story line irresistible.

But they truly think they are just months away from filling stadiums full of people who want to swear an oath to the fake "de jure" republic if you listen to the conference calls...of course, they've been saying that for years.
