NEW from HUFF POST and SPLC

Patriot groups -- those dedicated to federal government overthrow in the belief it will confiscate weapons and impose socialism -- expanded in number and size for the fourth consecutive year, the law center said. The groups' recruiting was fueled by the sluggish economy, anxieties about the country’s shifting demographics and their ability to push their ideas and conspiracy theories into the mainstream, the report said. The growth intensified at the end of 2012 with the election and the school massacre.
The actual SPLC report is here:

First paragraph:
Capping four years of explosive growth sparked by the election of America’s first black president and anger over the economy, the number of conspiracy-minded antigovernment “Patriot” groups reached an all-time high of 1,360 in 2012, while the number of hard-core hate groups remained above 1,000. As President Obama enters his second term with an agenda of gun control and immigration reform, the rage on the right is likely to intensify.

I'm tired of seeing the Right Wing Wackos who like guns get all the press.

I'm founding a new group: "Pistol Packing Progressives" - an organization for those who believe that religion is a private affair, in which government has no business; that with individual rights come individual duties and responsibilities; that access to affordable health care should be guaranteed to all, not merely because it's the right thing, but also because it makes good economic sense; that our military veterans deserve first crack at jobs and decent medical treatment; that free market economics works, but that unregulated business results in the kinds of horrific abuses that we saw with Enron, Goldman Sachs, etc.; that private enterprise is much better than Government at doing most things, but that some things are better done by Government; that the right to life subsumes the right to defend that life from unjust taking; and that Ideology is no substitute for Intelligence.
