Mona-Vie just reloacated from it's former location near Lake City Way Station, along the Millenium Skytrain line in Burnaby, BC to it's new location just a few doors down from where I work.
Apparently, they sell some sort of health beverage or something, but with a
search on Google and an article in
Wiki claims that they are an MLM.
There's no "claims they are" question. MonaVie is an MLM. MonaVie has always been an MLM.
Back in 2010 in
this thread MonaVie's MLM annual "Global Income Disclosure Statement" was exposed with a host of other MLM Income Disclosures.
Here is a direct link to that disclosure statement. You can easily find more recent ones on the web, but the overall breakdown remains the same: over 99% of all participants lose money.
Breaking the statement down:
1. The income numbers are gross income, BEFORE subtracting business expenses.
2. The income numbers are "annualized." This means MonaVie took those people who only qualify as distributors for a few months, then did some magic math to project what their earnings could have been if they had qualified for the full 12 months. IOW, they fudged the numbers upwards.
3. The income numbers are only for the 13% of people who qualified as distributors by purchasing more than a certain threshold of product. 87% of the people with distributor agreements were reclassified "Retail Customers" and OMITTED from the Income Disclosure. IOW, this disclosure is only for the top 13% of MonaVie members.
In summary:
87% of MonaVie Distributors didn't have enough income to be counted - BEFORE expenses.
Of the top 13%:
97% (12.6% of all participants) received between $1,200 and $9,000 in "annualized" commissions - less than minimum wage - BEFORE expenses.
2% (3/1000 of 1% of all participants) received between $19,000 and $29,000 in "annualized" commissions - barely more than minimum wage - BEFORE expenses. But at least they had a chance of breaking even after expenses.
1% (1/1000 of 1% of all participants) received the big money.
WHAT AN OPPORTUNITY!!!
"Claims they are"?? No, MonaVie IS an MLM, and it's a particularly bad one.
