Post by Samphire »

Tim only made it to about #178 when he found "the right one" but I was at #299 and going strong.
So, in a school of some 1,000 girls aged between 11 and 18 (average age of 14.5 years and a great many of them from already church-going christian families) Kent managed to date nearly 1/3rd of them all within (according to a previous rendition of the same story) eighteen months which reduces to 17 girls a month or a new one every couple of days. That's very, very weird - unless he is counting all those girls who told him to get lost.

.....
where we would see who could date the most girls and use our dating life to bring them to church....
which implies he would take up to 3 girls to church a week on the same date. Wow! - as Eric would say. Was this a Mormon church?
or youth activities or get them saved if we could.
"Youth activities"? "Missionary dating"? Way to go, Kent
Hang on please!
Hmmm. I really hope it is not all quite as desperate as it sounds.

P.S. Kent - the first person singular object pronoun is "me" and not "I". If you hadn't been s-o-o-o-o-o busy doing the Lord's work by trying to date those three blondes in the back row of the english lesson you would have heard the teacher explaining the difference.

Also, given that many of those 300 girls already had boy-friends (and I'm assuming here that Ferris Beuller's Day Off, Fast Times at Ridgemont High and Clueless are all fly-on-the-wall documentaries), Kent must have got beaten up quite often. Especially by the Jewish kids.

Samphire,

I have always wondered about Kent's "preachers' count" regarding such things.

I appreciated your analysis of his allegations regarding all those girls.

How about trying your analytical skills on the following claim regarding Kent:

http://www.kenthovindblog.com/?page_id=380

- "Since its beginning in 1989, his ministry
- continues to grow as Dr. Hovind has
- spoken more than 900 times each year
- in public and private schools, churches,
- university debates, and on radio and
- television broadcasts."

Sincerely,
Maury Enthusiast!

P.S. Today is October 5, a date that Kent has indicated something mysterious and marvelous might happen regarding his life. Watch for the announcement; if it comes.

Maury,
Since its beginning in 1989, his ministry continues to grow as Dr. Hovind has spoken more than 900 times each year in public and private schools, churches, university debates, and on radio and television broadcasts.
Yes, it's a piece of data I've often wondered about. Assuming a six-day working week it equates to about 3 engagements a day and with Kent living in Pensacola and popping up to speak all around America it would not leave much time for getting to and from the venues. Perhaps Kent is also including in his figures all those Berkeley professors he sat next to his journeys.

I remember that back in the day Kent used to post his engagements on his website and the diary never seemed very full to me. Most engagements were at weekends when the event would comprise two or three "seminars". When at home he had a weekly phone-in show so I assume that when this was on he couldn't be elsewhere on speaking engagements. Also, he often wrote of the time he spent lounging around the now fossilised Leviathan Misadventure Lot which would have reduced his speaking opportunities for the day. So three public engagements a day for a year seems most unlikely.

Utilising the same factor as that calculated by Judge Rogers to exaggerate Kent's initial sentence (3.333) would indicate only about 270 engagements a year, a figure which seems far more likely.

But Kent's probable exaggerations have nothing on his fellow YECist "Dr" Willie E Dye, a man seemingly six times cleverer than Einstein - scroll down towards the bottom of:

http://www.nciba.us/home.htm

Back to Kent:
While serving as a Sunday school teacher, a church bus worker, and an avid soul winner in his public high school of more than 2,000, he continued to seek God’s purpose for his life.
By his own recent witness, Kent concentrated mainly on winning girls' souls. However, God's long-term purpose seems to have been for Kent to balance the scales by spending some years witnessing to the male prison population.

Yeah, Willie is quite a character and he's managed to work himself into the position of "director" in Nick Lally's Creation Science Hall of Fame that speeded up Kent Hovind's induction to spite my questioning of their honoring him. I naively thought that such halls had scruples about the character of those they inducted.

Since that time I wonder sometimes if Nick and his people have had second thoughts about the honor they have given to Kent.

In any case, Kent is gaining on Willie.

Willie - 6 Ph.D.'s
Kent - 4 Ph.D.'s (3 in 6 years while incarcerated)

Ronald Isley & Kent Hovind

Post by Paths of the Sea »

See:

http://www.forbes.com/sites/peterjreill ... crime-pay/

I can see it coming!

If Kent Hovind gets wind of the deal Isley got (3 years), he is going to be whining even more than he did when he found out about Wesley Snipes.

The article above includes a link to the video where Isley is talking about his case. Maybe we will eventually get a Hovind video as well.

Kent Hovind Facing More Jail Time???

Post by Paths of the Sea »

Kent Hovind Facing More Jail Time???

UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT
NORTHERN DISTRICT OF FLORIDA
PENSACOLA DIVISION

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

v.

KENT E. HOVIND,
Defendant.

Case No. 3:06CR83 - MCR

GOVERNMENT’S RENEWED MOTION FOR ORDER TO SHOW CAUSE

(excerpts)

COMES NOW, the United States of America, through the below named attorney and files its Renewed motion for Order to Show Cause.

As grounds, the government states as follows:

...

3.

As such, the government requests that the proper sanction is to hold Hovind in criminal contempt.

4.

The United States Attorney's Office is ready to immediately appoint a criminal prosecutor to the case for any further action that this Court deems necessary.

5.

The government further suggests that the only sanction that will punish Hovind is additional prison time as the government does not believe that Hovind has additional assets with which to pay a fine and will simply solicit funds from hardworking, law-abiding citizens.

Wherefore, the government prays this Honorable Court will enter an order holding Hovind criminally contempt for willfully violating the prior order of the court.

Respectfully submitted,
PAMELA MARSH
UNITED STATES ATTORNEY

Filed 11/12/2013

(Hovind has filed his objection and the Court should act soon on the motion and objection. - Maury Enthusiast!)

What did Hovind do that was in contempt of court?

It looks to me as though the most significant part of the motion was redacted.

Sorry!

That is the latest concerning the issue on Hovind's "lis pendens" claims to try and keep the Government from selling the forfeited properties.

The Government argued that the earlier action in the case made it clear that Hovind had no business making any claims to the properties and yet he has persisted.

Even though the Court earlier ordered the lis pendens actions of no effect, Hovind came back with more efforts, if not to thwart the sales, to at least burden the court with his frivolous filings and slow things down further.

So, the Government has now suggested to the Court that a criminal contempt finding would be appropriate along with more prison time.

Maury Enthusiast!

LPC wrote:What did Hovind do that was in contempt of court?

It looks to me as though the most significant part of the motion was redacted.

Here's the text of the motion:
1. On October 11, 2013, the Court entered an Order (Doc. 469) denying the government’s previously filed Motion for Order to Show Cause and for Discharge of Lis Pendens and granting thirty days to file a renewed motion to show cause. (Doc. 465)
2. This Court has correctly pointed out the elements of criminal contempt: (1) a lawful
and reasonably specific order that (2) the defendant has violated (3) willfully. Romero v.
Drummond Co., Inc., 480 F.3d 1234, 1242 (11th Cir. 2007). Applying Romero to the instant
case, we have a lawful and specific order entered by this Court, Case No. 3:12cv136 (Doc. 7,
Para. 7), that specifically states:
“Defendants are hereby permanently enjoined from
interfering with the rights of the United States of America
in and to the property described above in any manner
including filing or attempting to file liens, claim or other
encumbrances in any manner whatsoever without a prior
order of this court. Defendants are also enjoined from
filing or attempting to file, directly or through the services
of others, new notices of lien, indebtedness, claims or
purported liens, of whatever nature, with the Clerk of Court
in an for Escambia County, Florida, on any property
forfeited to the United States.”

and that Hovind has violated by filing four lis pendens against property that is subject to the
Court’s order and Hovind’s filing was willful.
3. As such, the government requests that the proper sanction is to hold Hovind in
criminal contempt.
4. The United States Attorney’s Office is ready to immediately appoint a criminal
prosecutor to the case for any further action that this Court deems necessary.
5. The government further suggests that the only sanction that will punish Hovind is
additional prison time as the government does not believe that Hovind has additional assets with
which to pay a fine and, will, simply solicit funds from hardworking, law-abiding citizens.
WHEREFORE, the government prays this Honorable Court will enter an order holding
Hovind criminal contempt for willfully violating the prior order of the court.

I keep wondering what new ways Kent can double down on the stupid to make things worse for himself, and he just keeps right on finding new avenues to explore. Of course he hasn't got much else left to lose, except of course the rest of his life, and he seems bent on tossing that away.

Hovind sentence to be reduced?

Post by Lambkin »

http://www.wnd.com/2013/12/creationist- ... om-prison/
The Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to vote Thursday on a bill that would reduce the amount of time served for first-offense, nonviolent federal offenders who exhibit good behavior, cutting sentences by 33 percent instead of the current 12 percent.
Hovind is asking citizens to call the offices of members of the Senate panel through the Senate switchboard, (202)-224-3121, and urge them to vote for the bill.
Hovind is scheduled to be transferred to home confinement Feb. 11, 2015, where he would serve the final six months of his sentence. If the bill passes, however, cutting his sentence by 33 percent rather than 12 percent, he believes he would be released.

There's also this (Kent might prefer staying in jail and letting Uncle pay for his upkeep):

Warning From Eric Hovind!

Dear Friends of Creation Today,

On January 1st, Creation Today will have to

our outreach in 2014.

The need is great and the laborers are ready.
Help keep us on the front lines.
