It is so ironic how they can turn on each other.
They are bound to get upset with each other. They are all attention seekers vying for pole position.

Where was this posted?

So who is behind these two 'enterprises' I.e. Who has he fallen out with now ?

Is the 'Oh Dear' connection behind this all?
Love the way he posts an order, as if he was some sort of commander.

Looks like he has really thrown his toys out :snicker:

My thoughts also and I can't help feeling a tad gleeful.

Just waiting for a video from Tom -

'Hi all, Haining is a .....'.

More likely than 'Onesie' will vent her venom though - from what we have seen she doesn't seem to hang back or keep her cards close to her chest.

Jon is stepping down from GOODF so Colon will have free reign (didn't he step down before and just post under a different name)
Jon wrote:After eight years now and a totally amazing journey, I have decided to take the decision to step down from GOODF. I could never have know that when I first created a very basic site back in 2008, that it would grow into what it is now, with over 80,000 members and a thriving forum with thousands of people visiting the it every day.

In that time, I've met some amazing people, ran the site off grid in the woods, have done talks all over the country to local groups and every summer, have spoken at festivals, engaging new people with the truth about our current system and spreading the word about GOODF. It’s been a steep learning curve and I'm sure I've made mistakes along the way, but it’s been a tremendous experience. I still think that at some level I was guided.

However, I can’t simply walk away as the site urgently needs a complete redesign so it works correctly across all devices, it needs the content updated and improved and it’s also needs more content on the main site, otherwise it’s likely to slide from number one spot on Google and drift into obscurity. I think that would be a great shame, however, it’s now too big for one person to manage.

We are up against some big commercial sites which have huge budgets, which is why we are looking to raise the funds that we are. We would like to see the site in the best shape possible before I go, which is why we've chosen a crowfunding solution. More details here http://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/getoutofde ... -expansion Myself and Ceylon will not receive a penny of this fund, as it will all go to developing the website.

I don’t want to take up Latest News with discussions about site development, so suggest you post any questions in Improve the Site here http://getoutofdebtfree.org/forum/viewf ... 0KnZ5ErJhE

I would like to thank everyone for their support, this could never have happened without you.

Blessings, Jon
But before he goes Colon and \jon want to raise £30,000 - they are off to a good start someone has donated £10 already lol

What is Getoutofdebtfree.org?

We are a community /forum based website which has the tools to help its members and visitors to get themselves out of debt for no charge.

Written using tspecialist knowledge, the site has gone through substantial growth over the last 8 years and now recieves 450k visitors per month.

We have helped our users save in excess of £14,000,000.00 in the UK alone.

What are we looking to do?

With the help of the current format of the site, our members have reported savings of approximately £14.5 million .

This is a large amount considering the site is only helping approx 18% of the registered people and visitors. We want to change that, and this is how.......

The plan is to develop the site so that we can provide more options and more legislated advice to our visitors by becoming FCA guided and to be led by a range of additional information and template letters. Our secondary aim is to create more of an international voice that can be used by the 30000 visitors we get world wide.

In order for us to achieve this, we need to have a legal team conduct full checks through the website and give us the seal of approval, this is the majority of the finance and as the site currently stands will be quite a chunk of the costs.

The remainder of what we raise will go on the development of the site, the re build of the template letter scheme and also on offering alternative options to help our vast numbers of visitors in all areas.

By crowd funding the new changes, the site will remain a non for profit site and will help us to help more and more people, offering alternative solutions other than the solutions we offer at the minute.

http://www.getoutofdebtfree.org has over 65k registered users in the UK alone with another 40k users in the international arena. Knowing that over 60% of people don’t manage to go through the lettering scheme that we offer, leaves us with a shortfall of thousands of people that we can’t help.

What this means for you.

Free access, worldwide for EVERY single registration
Free credit checking facility for Every registered user
Five star 'contributer status' on the forum as a token of our gratitude
Offering more and more template letters to allow you to fight to clear your debts for free
Offering more support and advice for those of you that need extra support
International growth to help ALL our users - not just those in the UK
Self-satisfaction - Knowing that you have helped people that are struggling with the burden of debt.

By donating to the Getoutofdebtfree.org expansion scheme, you will be helping the thousands of people around the world break the stranglehold of debt fairly.

We can’t offer big gestures in return or flashy gizmos and gadgets, what we can offer you is a very public THANK YOU on the UKs leading community debt site. The feeling of pride that your donation has helped another person relieve the burden of debt will be of great satisfaction.

If you have any questions or are willing to help us with a large donation please feel free to e-mail me on crowdfunding@getoutofdebtfree.org. We can advise accordingly and answer any questions you may have.

I notice that they want the site to be "FCA guided". Well that's not going to happen with Ceylon involved.

Which is a blatant lie since 99.99% of what is on there is a lie or fraud or both. Any real lawyer would tell them to chuck it all, and I can't see that happening, anymore than I can see them actually asking a lawyer to review. A real lawyer at least, now some common law pretend lawyer yes. I'm betting any money they make goes right in someone's pocket.

Given that they want to raise £30,000 (even though Jon says £25,000 in the video) in 17 days and that the only person to have donated is the person that set up the page, I think they might struggle

How is that possible? How can you be "off grid" and run a website in the woods?

He probably means used a mobile phone to access the site and post, maybe with a solar panel as a power source, I don't think he means he physically dragged the server out into the woods and run it off fairy dust.

So would that mean he was "on grid" when he was out of the woods but "off grid" when in them? Surely his website had to be registered somewhere and the bills paid? I suppose what I am asking is (please bear with me because I know absolutely nothing about running a website) is it possible to be completely off grid and at the same time operate your own website? The website itself can't be off grid can it?

The point of the internet is to be connected. The point of being off-grid is to be not connected. Running a web server while being off-grid would be like taking a mobile phone into your isolation tank. You may as well get Tesco's to deliver your food while you're at it.

Fortunately the internet is cool, so you're still allowed to operate a website requiring power hungry, air-conditioned data centres full of machines made with components manufactured using massively polluting methods in countries where safety and labour laws don't exist and which are discarded into landfill after a year or two, all supported by huge teams of people doing everything from repairing cables to configuring routers and, yes, maintaining DNS servers and all the assorted infrastructure a website requires before you can connect to it. It doesn't all happen because someone sitting in the middle of a wood is thinking happy thoughts.

(It's got to be worth it for all those cat pictures, though.)
