There's way more to this story than we are being told.
It wasn't based on a solitary tip off, there were a lot of assumptions and exaggerations by the tax authorities . Perhaps if he changed his name to "Amazon" they would have let him off.

Yes, it was a period when HMRC were trying to force their way into industries where cash-in-hand was still happening. They would construct a speculative estimate of what this taxi driver or that plumber might've evaded, and reverse the presumption of innocence. If you couldn't prove your innocence, then the Revenue's claims about 'informants' and 'intelligence' might be upheld even if they were based upon conjecture.

Cullinane should've hired a top lawyer and fought it at the time, but not many of us can afford to splash £20k like that.

And this is why I despise idiots like Ebert and Taylor and Ceylon and the whole bloody lot of them. They divert attention away from the real tax scammers who are, let's face it, corporations and banks and the mega rich. Their insane rants about conspiracies and fotl etc divert attention from real scandals which are doing harm .

Corporations do get away with not paying their share of taxes and the burden falls to ordinary people who don't have the means and resources to pay tax specialists to avoid it. The rich pay, in proportion, a fraction of the amount those with run of the mill jobs have to pay. There is corruption in high places, I don't think there can be much doubt about that. I expect big pharma does do some pretty shameful things and there are, without doubt, pedophiles in high places.

Trouble is when they throw all this woo out into the world it has the effect of protecting the few who do have something to hide by pushing them into the herd of those who don't. The harm these idiots do reaches further and deeper than their stupid ideas ever could because when they paint everyone and everything as bad it makes it a lot harder to find those who actually are and even harder to make anyone else care.

I have often wondered if all the freeman and sovrun stuff was purposefully put out there in order to reflect attention from the real criminals in our society.
Hartnett, as head of HMRC brokered several "sweetheart" deals with big corporations allowing them to avoid billions in tax.
He gave one of the most evasive and cringeworthy performances in front of a Select Committee you'll ever hope to see, and yet he allowed his department to crucify ordinary individuals such as Patrick.

The aforegoing may or may not point towards a sovr'n fool, though personally I think it is quite conclusive on that front. This, however, is both sad and scary. The man is putting himself forward to advise in more serious aspects of the law.

Read the blurb and weep. I couldn't face listening to the audio. I have no idea whether this bloke is sufferning mental problems or not but if his doctor is concerned about him then I'd be more inclined to trust his judgment than a loon who has battled the courts on every pretext other than one which might have actually made a difference.

And Lilian "REFUSAL to allow cameras in" - like in nearly all English courts, nearly all of the time.

So let me get this straight... A die-hard conspiracy theorist who believes the US government is a criminal / zionist / NWO / paedophile / murderous organisation has been arrested and is going to go running straight to the US embassy  :snicker:

What in the name of all that is unnatural and crazy is that old windbag blowhard ultra reactionary McConnell doing meddling in an English court case? He’s made enough threats and promises over here to choke an horse and has yet to carry through on ANY of them. He’s kind of like having Orly Taitz championing you, a genuine sure fire kiss of doom.

Well that was 10 minutes of my life I won't get back.

Summary

Some eejit: "We are going to go in there with our video cameras, turn the count in to a common law court of recond and if they throw us out we'll go to plan B"

They get thrown out.

Plan B is implemented which seems to consist of milling about in the street interviewing each other.

Paddy 'most annoying voice in the world' Cullinane goes on and on and on about "This is treason... HIGH treason"

The end.

Save your bandwidth... This is the same shit we've heard countless times before from the usual collection of delusional gobshites.

Sorry, longdog, it's your favourite voice again.

Well, at least they've moved towards the present day by a few hundred years. Forget the Magna Carta, it's now the Act of Supremacy 1558 - everyone is guilty of high treason and should be hanged.
Of course, we take no notice of the fact that the Supremacy Act was repealed (as was the Magna Carta, mostly) but even in its original form it didn't say what they think it said.
Oh, and could I mention that capital punishment in the UK was finally abolished in 1998.

Old Major, a prize-winning boar, gathers the animals of the Manor Farm for a meeting in the big barn. He tells them of a dream he has had in which all animals live together with no human beings to oppress or control them. He tells the animals that they must work toward such a paradise and teaches them a song called “Beasts of England,” in which his dream vision is lyrically described. The animals greet Major’s vision with great enthusiasm. When he dies only three nights after the meeting, three younger pigs—Snowball, Napoleon, and Squealer—formulate his main principles into a philosophy called Animalism. Late one night, the animals manage to defeat the farmer Mr Jones in a battle, running him off the land. They rename the property Animal Farm and dedicate themselves to achieving Major’s dream.
Years pass on Animal Farm, and the pigs become more and more like human beings—walking upright, carrying whips, and wearing clothes. Eventually, the seven principles of Animalism, known as the Seven Commandments and inscribed on the side of the barn, become reduced to a single principle reading “all animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.” Napoleon entertains a human farmer named Mr. Pilkington at a dinner and declares his intent to ally himself with the human farmers against the labouring classes of both the human and animal communities. He also changes the name of Animal Farm back to the Manor Farm, claiming that this title is the “correct” one. Looking in at the party of elites through the farmhouse window, the common animals can no longer tell which are the pigs and which are the human beings.

The weirdest thing about that, the rabid anti Semitism and conspiracy nutbaggery is bland in it's predictability, is wasting time on an answerphone message with the insistence that he is Sir John and he can prove it "at a later stage" because "a royal nobility family in Europe" said he is.

I flicked thru to the enevitable paedophilia bit, the guy suddenly forgets what he is talking about, Patrick looks baffled, and I switched off.
