If the cheques are the foundation of WeRe Bank, and "the cheques don't work", then WeRe (not a) Bank will inevitably collapse -taking Penis of England along with it. The only question is how long before we see him on the evening news in handcuffs?

That would be all fine and dandy if Peter sold the chequebooks as a NOVELTY item, with the disclaimer that they are for entertainment purposes only. But he didn't do that did he? Nine tenths of the law is INTENT. Peter sold the chequebooks with the INTENT to convince the "punters" that they are as good as gold. Only they turned out to be as worthless as Fools Gold !!!

A really good con is one where the Mark doesn't believe he has been conned, or that the bad result wasn't the con-mans fault. PoE has a very good con going here.

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but I do believe that it is actually a crime in the U.K. to even use the word "bank" in the name of a business if it does not have the authority to do so. I think I read that it carries up to 5 years in prison just for the unauthorised use of the word "bank". The wheels of justice do turn slowly, but Peter will get what's coming to him eventually.
