I would welcome a post from pigpot in which he said something worthwhile. However, like so many trolls before him, he has yet to do that. He is like the second coming of Harvester or lorne.

Well this seems pretty clear. I wonder if George will be happy with the answer.

https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/ ... ing-810936
dear Mr Tsigarides

Thank you for your email.

Please see attached answers to your original issues raised in your email.

A. GAS SUPPLY

A1. Is Paying for the provision of Gas Supply optional.
You are required to pay for the gas you use. This obligation is based on
your agreement with your gas supplier. If you have not explicitly signed
an agreement, but are being supplied with gas, you will have a 'deemed'
contract with your supplier, which will require you to pay for the gas you
use.

A2. Those being provided with Gas Supply and being asked to pay for these
provisions and services can ignore the demands, bills, and invitations to
pay; as these are merely invitations to pay - which can Legally and
Lawfully be declined without prejudice - and these Gas Supply provisions
and services shall continue to be provided without recourse.
This is incorrect. Please see the answer to question A1. Furthermore
suppliers are allowed to disconnect your supply, as a last resort, if
customers fail to pay the charges.

A3. Is having a Gas Meter optional.
You are required to have a gas meter in order to ascertain how much gas
you’ve used. The supplier will then charge you based on your use. If you
do not have a gas meter your supplier may cut of the supply of gas to your
premises.

A4. Can those having a Gas Meter installed Legally and Lawfully ask for
the Gas Meter to be removed.
Yes, you can ask your supplier to remove your gas meter. Please consider
if this is appropriate in your situation, you will not be able to get a
gas supply without a meter.

B. ELECTRICITY SUPPLY

B1. Is Paying for the provision of Electricity Supply optional.
You are required to pay for the electricity you use. This obligation is
based on your agreement with your electricity supplier. If you have not
explicitly signed an agreement, but are being supplied with electricity,
you will have a 'deemed' contract with your supplier, which will require
you to pay for the electricity you use.

B2. Those being provided with Electricity Supply and being asked to pay
for these provisions and services can ignore the demands, bills, and
invitations to pay; as these are merely invitations to pay - which can
Legally and Lawfully be declined without prejudice - and these Electricity
Supply provisions and services shall continue to be provided without
recourse.
This is incorrect. Please see the answer to question B1. Furthermore
suppliers are allowed to disconnect your supply, as a last resort, if
customers fail to pay the charges

B3. Is having an Electricity Meter optional.
You are required to have an electricity meter in order to ascertain how
much gas you’ve used. The supplier will then charge you based on your use.
If you do not have an electricity meter the supplier may refuse to give
you electricity or may discontinue the supply.

B4. Can those having an Electricity Meter installed Legally and Lawfully
ask for the Electricity Meter to be removed.
Yes, you can ask your supplier to remove your electricity meter. Please
consider if this is appropriate in your situation, you will not be able to
get an electricity supply without a meter.

I hope the above information is useful.

I suspect the next step for George will be to request that the meters installed in his house are removed, which will be met with utter shock and incredulity that he can no longer access the electricity or gas supply.

As expected he's not totally satisfied with the reply
Thank you for confirming the position regarding the supplies of Gas and Electricity to the Men and Women living on the land of the United Kingdom.

I have one final question in two segments that I will be grateful if you would answer please:

I. Does what you have confirmed apply to living breathing human beings (i.e. the Men and Women living on the land of the United Kingdom) under Common Law.
and / or
II. Does what you have confirmed apply to the citizens living in the land of the United Kingdom under the international Admiralty Law of the Sea (and its associated United Kingdom Kingdom Acts, Statutes and Orders).

If you are not authorised to answer this specific question, I will be grateful if you would forward this to your 151 Officer to respond to.

Normally in a case like the the response would be several sandwiches short a picnic, however in the is case I would say he forgot the entire picnic.

I fail to see the significance of "Men and Women living on the land", unless he is identifying them as a potential class of deadbeats. I am quite sure he won't like the final answer(s) either.

Is he really that clueless on top of being that brain dead stupid? Magic 8 Ball™ says: YES.

I'm sure that given sufficient time the kooks will use that C&P error as conclusive proof that you don't need to have an electrickery meter and / or / and/or a gas meter.

They used the word "may" in the response.
may cut of the supply
means it is optional. And
Yes, you can ask your supplier to remove your gas meter. Please consider if this is appropriate in your situation, you will not be able to get a gas supply without a meter.
And this quote obviously give them permission to remove the meter. Obviously the part about not getting a supply without a meter, means that they will have to install their own, to get the Gas/electric back, and the request didn't specify that I couldn't provide my own meter. So I think this must be a victory. :sarcasmon:

Am I right in thinking that you can fit your own electric meter?

Or is this just a FMOTL/ GOOFY myth?

After the supplier's meter, sure, why not?

But the GOOFies want to replace the supplier's meter with their own. Hardly suprisingly, suppliers won't supply unless they also approve of the meter.
