Considering that the original judgement was only for 8k I wonder how much it would have been to settle out of court in the first place probably a lot less. In the end she is losing a 200k house all the equity almost certainly gaining a criminal record which will probably also mean the end of her career, all over probably 5-6 grand.

It's basic pig headed stupidity, just like Tom Crawford, they would rather (and do!) lose everything then admit they're in the wrong and you can't tell them - stupid people who delude themselves that they're the clever ones and know more than the solicitors, barristers, judges etc. etc etc.... :brickwall:

Come one man - that's a great win in fmotl-ville. Another resounding success!

Why settle on a poxy £7k when you can double down and lose the lot. You don't gain guru status over chumpf lose change you know.

Hercule Parrot is spot on there, she's a fmotl hero now, a "common law civil rights leader". She's been itching to be on tv for a while putting herself forward for BBC1's 'Britain's Empty Homes' in 2011, films of herself all over Youtube, there's even a film by Nine Lives Media Manchester called 'Bailiff Busters' promising to be aired on Channel 4's Cutting Edge. Losing a £200k house is worth it for a new career under an even bigger spotlight than mere teaching.

You have to be some kind of sociopath to think a 270-year-old historical building should be renamed after yourself.

Nothing since November when she was issued with an injunction preventing her from entering the house. It is possible that she has came to her senses and realised she will lose everything and has came to a settlement and kept quiet about it.

There is an update.

Rekha has posted this on Faceache;
In August 2016 my neighbour got her private agents to produce a writ of restitution, which basically means to enter my property by force, therefore, I put 2 tonnes of concrete in front of my door as the meatheads would not be able to get past. (the first one was not by force apparently)

On 14th November I had an injunction stuck on my door telling me I can't enter my property, which was acquired by a private hearing where the Judge was mislead. When I had the injunction stuck on my door I asked the court for an emergency hearing I have had to wait 2 months, I have a date for next wednesday 25th January at Manchester Civil Center, Bridge Street at 10.30am. If you can come and support then you are most welcome and your support would be appreciated.

Two tonnes of concrete and rock has appeared in front of her door in an effort to repel all boarders.

It must be rather inconvenient trying to get in and out , especially with the weekly groceries.

All this will do is add to her expenses when the bailiffs fork out a lot to remove it.

Success !!!1!!!

The woman's stark staring bonkers, if she doesn't end up in prison over this continual contempt of Court I will be VERY surprised !! :brickwall:

I am amused that the bag of concrete says "swag" on it.

I may be missing something here, but I can't see why or how the neighbor would be involved in getting a "writ of restitution" or would rally have any reason to. Wouldn't that actually have come from whoever the poor owner of the property is now? My understanding was that she lost the property when she didn't pay for the damages to her neighbor's house, and the lawyers fees that came along with her being a fool. At this point she has done considerable damage to someone else's property, slandered the title, and and I should think incurred a good deal more legal expense.

She's on the hook for a whopping 70k ish @ND.
I can't see the damage to the stones costing too much to put right - it was a 7k debt originally. But being the legal genius, she multiplied that debt by a factor of x10 through frivolous litigation.

Now that the fmotl crowd are onboard, who knows how much more that multiplier will climb by.

Some people.......

From what someone kindly posted a while back the actual monetary damages were about 5K and then the legal of about 2K on top of that. I would suspect that the neighbors insurance actually paid for the repairs and then sued Patel for them, that is usually how it is done, at least here anyway, since they had an actual damage claim to show for it and they would have had to pay out on it. She ran the amount up by being a fool and not paying up to begin with, and her latest efforts have undoubtedly upped the amount, possibly to more than the house is now worth. The woman is a FOOL.

I will say parenthetically that the damage must either not have been as severe as I thought it was from the description, or labor and repair is cheaper in the UK.

To put it in perspective , I recently replaced an entire roof on a Victorian cottage for £6k.

Highly likely the neighbours insurers just did the work , I wonder if it was the insurers who launched the original action.......

So next week we can confidently expect her refusal to comply with the outcome of that hearing (corrupt Admiralty court, straw-man, Magna Carta, etc).

That's cheap. We've been quoted between £9K and £12K just for reslating, and that's not even the whole of our roof.

In this particular case someone shared a document about these thack stones, describing how the damaged stones would have to be extracted from the wall and their replacements inserted, all without taking the down the masonry above and around the stones. That sounds like specialist work.
