I myself am most impressed by the very snazzy "Patel Cottage" signage.

I'd like to point out that I know phuck-all about this woman beyond what is on this thread. Further, I happen to be a polymath and am relating only my own personal experience here.

Okay, now that the disclosure is out of the way, I am disturbed that she's a teacher of any kind, but the fact that she teaches maths and is apparently batshit crazy is not surprising to me. For reasons above my understanding, I have always noticed a correlation between understanding higher maths and some degree of mental difference. Ranging from mild OCD to, well, full on batshit crazy. On a scale that ranges from "wanting to arrange all the labels in the cupboard just so" to "thinking it fine to kill all the people with green eyes on Tuesdays" I'm about a quarter of the way up the scale myself, and while it cannot be proved* that I've actually killed anyone with green eyes :snicker: (my lawyer made me say that), I don't get along with people very well outside a pretty small circle of friends, who I am quite fond of.

*Any evidence is long gone, I'm SURE. :Axe:

WeRe bank fan and legendary lawyer Hayles Owen QC offers Rekha some advice to get her home back.

Sadly no longer available, but I think it's safe to say it'll be an "empty
Home" again soon enough

That is some grade A lunacy, right there. With only 26 letters in the Roman alphabet to go at (extra letters in some languages notwithstanding) and only a finite number of combinations that are pronounceable, it should hardly be a surprise that some identical combinations have different meanings in different languages. Or that words can be made up of several combinations that are other words. It does not mean that a carpet has any connection with either a car or a pet, or that bond (to stick) in English is cognate with bond (leap) in French.

Or even in the same language. I see a poster on Goofy trying to build his house of cards around the word "charge", and managing to persuade himself that a parking ticket (Parking Charge Notice) gets registered at the Land Registry.

I've just spent the best part of an hour with Stephen hawking trying to decipher that Hayles Owen crap.

The only conclusion he reached is Hayles+Owen(We're bank + Pseudolegal nonsense) = Gibberish.

Especially if you're going to arbitrarily break up words and change vowels where needed.

After running the Owens pontifications through the Gibberish and Arglebargle Translator™®© the response was NO PARASBLE DATA.

I remember the show from when it first broadcast, She was told she was mad for even buying the house, she was told the work needed had to be done by a specialist, she was also told that if she breached planning or if she damaged her neighbours house she would get taken to the cleaners. She knew the score from the outset but decided to ignore the advice and what she was told what would happen has happened.

I am beginning to believe that the woman has serious cognition issues on top of just being flat out stupid and full of herself.

I was exposing the Rekha thing to my wife. Miss SteveUK is in a very senior position in the teaching racket - and is amazed Rekha hasn't been in some sort of trouble with her employer over this.

Three options, she may well have been and we've just never heard, the school is so bad that she doesn't stand out(their standing is very poor from what I understand), she actually is good at the one thing she really "knows" and doesn't go beyond that.

Click on the recently published OFSTED inspection letter (11 Jan 2017) on the link below and it will show that this underperforming school underachieves mostly in Mathematics, Rekha Patel's subject. https://reports.ofsted.gov.uk/inspectio ... ELS/112957

So much for benefit of the doubt, but not terribly surprised.

Wow, she's a living argument for the mandatory testing of teachers on a regular basis.
