This guy is rising fast in the UK rankings. With Crab Bait's imminent eviction & inevitable fade into obscurity we need a new hero.

This guy seems to have come to prominence in 2018, with his star turn being his attempt at the good old "I'm travelling, not driving" argument. Hampshire plod took a dim view of this & dragged him from his Zafira & tasered him in front of his whole family.

This engagement was so spectacular that the national press picked it up.

With little fanfare from our hero, the Zafira became road legal shortly after. We have the court case coming up to amuse us all.

I'd say that is a pretty good bet, and considering his past history I'm wondering if he'll get by without a jail term.

This is a slight tangent, but I am genuinely curious: how common are baseball bats in Britain? Is there enough baseball played over there for them to be seen as sports equipment, rather than as the clubs that they essentially are?

I think there are a lot more about than there are players of baseball. I have actually seen people practice baseball in the UK but suspect the previous sentence is true. I think it's all the US influence, nothing wrong with a good old pick axe handle.

Ahh, baseball is originally English. The first published reference to it is in A Little Pretty Pocket-Book (John Newbery, 1744), and the first professional (well, money was wagered on the result, I doubt that any of the players were paid a fee) game took place in Surrey in 1749. It's mentioned in Northanger Abbey (Jane Austen, 1797-8, published 1817). The theory is that it reached the USA via British ex-pats in Canada.

Britain has some very odd laws when it comes to the legality of twatting implements.

My steel baton emergency home defence twatting stick would be legal to possess if I'd made it before a certain date but illegal if I'd made it after a certain date... I actually made it in 1854 so I'm good... But a baseball bat or a pickaxe handle is legal to possess no matter when it was made.

Six or eight D Cell MagLites are perfectly legal and when it comes to twatting people there's none better... You can even dazzle the bugger before you cave his head in... Which reminds me... I must buy some new batteries.
