To be fair, most congresscritters establish blind-trusts for their investments. BUT - the idea that a spouse, family member, close associate etc., etc., can't or won't take advantage of information is nonsensical on its face.

The real action is at the staff level and the trick is to do with without a paper trail. :evil:

In the case of the "60 Minutes" segment, Steve Croft ambushed both Boehner and Pelosi at press conferances with very specific allegations about transactions they were able to make with privileged information. As the books and articles have shown, the members of Congress have been flouting such ethical standards for years. But as usual in the U.S., we usually go through extremely corrupt periods before new laws get passed or existing ones get enforced.
