Errol of the Denton Family - UK OPCA Cancer Quack

Post by Burnaby49 »

Here's one for the Quatloos UK gang. A quack doctor who employed OPCA techniques in court to escape liability for offering medically incorrect and stupid advice. Such as the information that wearing bras acidifies women's breasts. Hey, don't blame me for the stuff I report, I just find it and pass it on. I've just come across a rather "earthy" string of cases recently.

He claims he is a ‘non-medical doctor’ who can cure cancer, diabetes, HIV, etc etc, and, I assume, deacidify breasts.

Be nice if the UK courts wrote up some of this stuff so we could cite it here in Canada. Nothing posted on Bailii yet.

Interesting reading Burnaby.

From what I can gather Errol was convicted in absentia (which given that he was using Freeman defences could mean anything from Errol not actually being in court, or Errol thrusting his Birth Certificate up and denying that he was the legal fiction).

He was found guilty of nine violations of the cancer act.

He was fined £1,000 for each violation of the cancer act - the maximum allowed.

He also had to pay the CPS costs of £10,000.

Now you'd think that being handed a hefty medical bill and getting a conviction for being a quack would have ended his business marketing medical mumbo jumbo. It doesn't seem to have had the necessary affect as his website http://www.livebloodtest.com/ is still up and running. It even includes a donate link so you too can chip in to help pay Errols aforementioned fines.

However Errol no longer advertises that he can treat cancer. Although that hasn't stopped him from having a rather long list of other medical conditions he can treat including medical complaints including (but not limited to): Autoimmune, Blood Pressure, Fatigue / Energy Food, Hair Loss / Dry Hair, Mental Fogginess, Skin Challenges, Smoking, and Yeast.

I also chanced on a rather excellent page devoted to Errol over at http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Errol_Denton. It includes where Errol gets his ideas from namely 'Dr' Robert O. Young http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Robert_O._Young who also proclaimed he could cure cancer, even getting a cancer sufferer, Kim Tinkham, who he had proclaimed to be cancer free on the Oprah Winfrey show. His moment of triumph however was short lived when Miss Tinkham passed away from cancer two years after Young had given her the all clear.

Why is it that I first thought I saw "Error of the Denton Family". No matter how true it is, I didn't really see that, did I?
