I stumbled across creditwrench.com via the LH forum, and took a peek at it. It appears to be a debt elimination scam, the 02/09/08 blog entry concerns someone with more credit card debt than their yearly salary and the credit card companies want large payments. The person is considering bankrupcy, and this is an excerpt of Bill's response:

Well, let me assure you that there is a better way and that is to learn what they do to you that is illegal and sue them for their violations in federal court. Once you start doing that your debts will go away and never return because you have a legally enforceable contract which they agreed to and signed which says they are not going to pursue the debt and must take it off your credit reports, can't sell or assign it to anyone else and can't discuss the debt with any other party. On top of that they pay you for your court costs instead of you paying them. To sweeten the pot even more you don't pay their attorney anything and they might have to pay you attorney fees for your time and trouble of going to court and maybe even some serious damage money on top of all of that.

It's sounds like a magic bullet...which screams scam to me. Plus he's charging $400 to take the course..

Yes (to the "scam artist" part, not the "or what" part). He actually posted here some time ago, and it was a hoot. (It's a real shame that so much of the old boards are gone. There was great stuff there.)

Probably didn't like having the glaring light of truth and common sense shone into his dark little corner of the WWW. It's a roach thing... you wouldn't understand.

For a while, Bauer had a running on-line battle with a guy in Utah by the name of Robert Paisola of "Western Capital Management," a relentless self-promoter who has a Federal sex offender record (child pornography convictions). I know Paisola did time and then got whacked again while under supervised release but can't remember the dates. But we can be sure Billie knows. That is if Billie is actually still around. He's got to be close to 80 by now.
