$1.6 billion in phony Treasury notes seized

Post by rogfulton »

Lloyd Clifford Norris of Duluth, GA was arrested trying to buy a house using
a registered promissory note supposedly certified by Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner

The full story is at http://www.ajc.com/news/gwinnett/duluth ... 94562.html. I haven't had time to research him but the story hasn't been posted to Quatloos yet. I am hoping someone with the resources can provide more.

All I can say is "wow".
And as they say elsewhere on the web, what a big pair of brass ones!

I wonder if he knows that his scheme is the brain fart of the white supremacist movement.

Oh, no - the white supremacists use bonded promissory notes. Clifford figured since they were so stupid that he'd try some registered, bonded versions.

You've got to figure that, whatever you call these things, the people who promote these scams have awoken to the prospect of finding new flocks of sheeple to shear, as the recent "Nuwaubian" thread makes clear.
