I love the new "Voice of Truth and Reason" propaganda video. It shows you how much of an alternate reality these guys operate in. They now have an answer as to why, despite being promised that all the "funding" would be coming ANY DAY NOW for years, there has been no funding.

Option 1: There is no funding because its all made up and your a member of a fake government that would be treasonous if it wasn't so pathetic.

Option 2: There has been no funding because when RuSA members created their original treasonous "declaration of independence" in Utah (this is the "Utah Document" that they carefully guard and dont put online because its basically a declared intent to commit treason), they wrote that one of the foundations of the republic was the "unaltered bible." But because no one knows what that is, exactly, it messed up the magical legal incantation and thus was not a good enough document for all the gold bullion to be sent in.

Perhaps unsurprisingly, the RuSA faithful have gone with option 2.

I also really enjoyed when our Fake Senator began reading from the "Seven Habits of Highly Effective People" on the difference between leadership and management. It just really puts the cherry on top for the absurdity of it all.

Looks like things have taken quite a hit since Turner's arrest. They are down to only 15 states going "green" - and since their gibberish paperwork for going "green" sounds to me like it requires anywhere from 10 to 15 people to fill various fake government positions, our total RuSA membership is probably in the low 300s at this point. I suspect it peaked around 1,000 before Tims arrest. That they need people so bad they are flirting with danger by publishing the "Utah Document" (since its the best evidence yet for the FBI that they are treasonous) says quite a bit.

As I recall, from various past postings and rantings I have come across, at its freshest height of delirium tremens, they never had more than a handful of people. I seem to remember that at one point Jimmy Tim had a vice president to play foil to, but he seems to have disappeared, maybe Jimmy Tim didn’t like the possible competition for chief nut bar, or wasn't comfortable with the thought of someone waiting in the wings ready and willing to replace him. They had a handful of the cabinet positions filled at one point as I recall, and a sort of rump Supreme Court with a pretend Chief Justice, who has since resigned, and a bare handful of pretend Justices, and I can’t remember now that they ever found more than one or two senators or representatives per state, if that, and my impression was that they there were a lot of no responses, and I don’t remember that there were ever more than a handful of states who had more than one or two officers or whatever. I guess there just weren’t enough lunatics to come out and play pretend government with him. Their reinhabited USA was pretty much a ghost town when you got right down to it, and still is for that matter. This gives a whole new complexion to the old saw about paranoids building cloud castles in Spain.

The suspense was killing me! I couldn't sleep a wink because I had to know the mystery behind RuSA's "special announcement." But now I'm disappointed to learn it's only about another special viewing of the "Utah Document."

I hadn't considered the "treason" angle for why they hold their founding document so close. I assumed it was to stop competing fake republicans from stealing their ideas.

Keeping RuSA's version of the "Declaration of Independence" hidden from public view seems counter to their entire existence. But then again they trumpet "common law," which is not written down anywhere. You're just supposed to know it from reading the bible and stuff. It's kinda hard to form a new nation based on the "rule of law" when no one can readily look up the law.

This seems to be a last-ditch effort to appease non-members who'd like to see some transparency in the reinhabited republic. Recent callers to the weekly conference calls have been asking for more documents to show non-members, but they are often met with something like, "Well, if they just read the Constitution, they'd know what we're doing."

Listening to the tape of the latest RuSA Round Table conference call, a few bits tumbled out:

1) In his latest court hearing (Jan 24th) 'President' Tim Turner 'fired his lawyer'. Considering that Turner was filing his own crazy stuff in court while his court appointed lawyer was probably desperately attempting damage control, the lawyer may have been very glad to be fired. For the moment Turner appears to have no lawyer, and the Round Table did not, this time, talk about someone waiting in the wings for when money appears.

2) The entire RuSA make-believe govt has bogged down to a near standstill. Evidently all the States were recently ordered to hold new elections for everything, including the offices to which people were already elected and whose terms still have considerable time. Compliant States, of which there are only a few, are considered "green" States and only their officers/delegates count for anything. It is not completely clear why this is necessary but it does not seem to result from an influx of better-qualified individuals.

3) The RuSA has an organic document, the Declaration of Sovereign Intent (DSI), adopted (I am not sure by whom) last April. It's commonly called "the Utah Document" and hardly anyone knows what it says because it's still a deep dark secret. On the Roundtable call, there are plans afoot to enable, first, the "green" Governors to see this on a special internet website, then to allow other members. But all very hush-hush. They're going to try to do this so these selected members of the audience each need a one-use-only password, so they are only assured of one view, AND it will be done in such a high-tech way that it cannot be downloaded or copied or even photographed on the screen! Ostensibly the reason for this CIA-level type secrecy is some concern about "corruption of the documents" - although I can think of fairly safe internet venues and the fact is that most of the people on this Roundtable call were baffled by such lesser technologies as cellphones. Anyway this is their plan. They are going to enormous lengths to make sure that even their individually authorized audience cannot make any sort of copy. And this is supposed to be a document of organic significance to the RuSA, affecting every member, etc. I suspect some sort of dirty work but cannot put my finger on it. According to this phone call, there's been plenty of coffeehousing and treachery within RuSA in the past, and this is supposedly the reason that this document is kept under wraps.

Introducing RuSA's new "Republic News Network"! This replaces the Thursday calls. It also bounces Robert Z., the longtime (irritating) moderator who often expanded his role from host to executive gatekeeper on the calls.

And, of course, if they deny they're sovcitz, it must be true! Just like when birthers say they aren't birthers and racists deny they're racists.

It is not entirely clear what their strategy is, or whether (or to what extent) they are connected to (or the effective heirs of) the Guardians of the Republic. Listening to the tapes of their conference calls, they talk only about getting more members who will in turn bring in yet more people, but it's not quite clear what they intended to do. They have this terribly important document, called the Declaration of Sovereign Intent, written about 9 months ago - which is kept secret not only from the general public but also from the members and even, so far, from their own 'Governors'.

I have noticed a pattern with RUSA having watched it since 2010. Its what I call the "cycle of woo" for them - their organization and "goals" always follows the same repeating pattern:

(1) Some external political or economic event occurs at a national level that causes the more gullible among the population to "join" RuSA. This is key, because a group like this could not have lasted so long with so little to show for it if it were not formed during the height of the recession and a consecutive two term Democratic president. The people that are joining this thing are largely so far to the right they don't even resemble Republicans, they are evangelical theocracy supporters.
(2) Most of these people that join never do anything else once they find out no free money is involved (RuSA doesn't tell you they have no funding until your hooked). I'd wager about 1/3 or less actually do as little as listen to the conference calls or become active in their fake state governments. The new RuSA members are propagandized with the full myth of RuSA's founding and sovereign citizen insanity by people like Kelby Smith, who never read a soverign citizen conspiracy he didn't believe in.
(3) New members enter a true believer stage where they work tirelessly churning fake legislation and nonsense paperwork for the republic. This stage seems to last 6 months - 1 year.
(4) After about a year, the faithful begin to wonder why they have not received their tons of gold bullion promised by RuSA. They begin asking uncomfortable questions in the conference calls. They begin to get involved in the hilarious level of palace intrigue and back stabbing that appears to be going on in the fake state governments where it seems as though someone is seceding from RuSA every other day.
(5) The now questioning faithful usually just go quietly into the night and stop participating or go out in a blaze of glory ala Nathan Peachy after about 2-3 months. We see resignations from fake government positions en masse, panic sets in when they find out someone has been arrested (like last November), and for a few months total chaos envelopes the fake government.

Why do I note this cycle? Because these conference calls have been making a BIG deal about how they have had "over 1,000" new members in the past few months. But its not really that big of a deal. The reason why RuSA has seen such a recent surge in membership is that we have cycled back to (1) with the re-election of Obama, which has caused the lunatic fringe on the right to seek out "remedy." Also, just a few months ago after being raided by the FBI, RuSA quietly dropped all of the insane bloody red thumbprint paperwork you had to file to be considered a "member" - now all you do is fill out a online form. Joining before took hours of paperwork and required witnesses and notaries...now it takes 5 minutes with their online form. Also, their new approach is going to be to approach disaffected Ron Paul youth voters. Which is likely to work, at least temporarily until they cycle through as above, since most Ron Paul youth voters are also likely to believe any conspiracy they stumble across.

Oh dear, our beloved Kelby Smith ended the call on a bizarre anti-freemason rant. I know we are dealing with crazy people here, especially Kelby who never met a conspiracy he didn't think was true, but as a mason I can't help but take this one way more personally than I should. Kelby muses that obviously dark forces were behind our founding fathers because George Washington was a 32nd degree mason (which I think was false, by the way, Washington never took the Scottish Rite). Kelby then launches into a bizarre lecture about the "freemason religion" (bit of a problem, freemasonry isn't anymore of a religion than the Boy Scouts are a religion...). I know the man is nuts, but hes just so divorced from reality that every time hes on these calls I personally am shocked at the new heights of stupidity he seems to reach as he goes further down the rabbit hole.

LightinDarkness, I think you have a number of good points here,

• (1)I do think a lot of the FRUSA types really, you'll pardon the expression, lust after an evangelical theocracy, the problem would be whose religion they would base it on, since I doubt they have any more cohesion or agreement there than they do as to what the "common law" actually is.
  
  (2)I wouldn't be surprised to find that they have a lot of "paper" members, but not a great number of real, active ones, in fact I think they have so few real , active members that they will have problems coming up with more than one loon per state at this point.
  
  (3)I think short attention span is a good description and explanation.
  
  (4)Short attention span coupled with high gullibility, obviously they need to be distracted with something else to keep them from asking inconvenient questions.
  
  (5)Like unsupervised children, if they run out of anything else to do they squabble or go off and sulk. I thought Peachy had been around longer than that, and only started to get nervous once pretend president for life Timmy Jim got busted.

Again, I really do question their membership figures, I have a feeling they more closely resemble the signing figures on Orly's petitions that go up in huge leaps ever time someone signs in.

Ron Paul youth voters, now there is a concept to conjure with. I didn't think anyone under the age of senility paid much attention to him, next thing you know, Lyndon LaRouche will be considered rational. Remember what I said about short attention span earlier.

And isn't it comforting to know that Kelby Smith speaks for the FRUSA crowd???!!!! Just makes you feel all warm and squiggly doesn't it.

I'm going to guess the participation level is closer to 20%. And most of those we likely never hear on the calls, neither as "officials" nor callers.

In the past two months, we've heard a handful of lurkers who have asked some uncomfortable questions. That probably prompted this new Thursday call format, which makes it less likely those questioners will hijack the call.
